Fancast: TMNT

Fancast: TMNT

This is my fancast for "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", based on the Saturday morning cartoon show from the late 80's.

As a starting point, The Turtles, Splinter, Bebop and Rocksteady will be performed by the actors via motion capture. Everybody else will be live action.

Heroes:

Garrett Hedlund as Leonardo: The eldest of the 4 brothers, and the leader of them. His main weapons are a pair of ninjaken.

Reason for Casting: I wanted somebody original for Leonardo, but I eventually gave in to Garrett since he seemed like a dead on choice for him (I've already casted him in my "Captain America" and "Speed Racer" fancasts).

Ian Somerhalder as Raphael: The second oldest of the brothers, who has a hot temper. He often clashes with Leonardo over leadership. His main weapons are twin Sai.

Reason for Casting: After viewing all of the episodes of "Lost" he was in, I decided he would make a good Raphael.

Elijah Wood as Donatello: The most knowledgeable of the brothers, with a fondness for Science and engineering. His main weapon is a Bō staff.

Reason for Casting: Elijah is a very intelligent person, something that I was looking for when casting Donny. Plus he is a fabulous actor (Roger Ebert once called him "The most talented actor of his age group in Hollywood history).

Topher Grace as Michelangelo: The fun loving jokester of the brothers and also the youngest. He is more relaxed than his brothers, enjoying comic books, skateboarding, and television. His main weapons are a pair of Nunchakus.

Reason for Casting: I'm predicting that your initial response is going to be this: "This douche ruined Spiderman 3. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah." If you are solely basing his acting skills on Spiderman 3, the you are a whiny n00bish fanboy who probably lives in their parents basement. I have seen his work in "Predators" and "In Good Company". He is a good comedic actor (but Mikey is suppose to be the joker, not the comic relief).

Choi Min-sik as Master Splinter: A mutated rat who serves as the turtles' father figure. He was originally the pet rat of Hamato Yoshi and saw his master killed by Oroku Saki. He then ran away to the sewers of Manhattan and was caught up in the accident that mutated him and the turtles. He gave them names (out of a book of Renaissance artists he found in a storm drain) and trained them in the art of ninjutsu while raising them as his own sons.

Reason for Casting: He was extrodinary in "Oldboy". His character fought 25 men armed with blunt objects in a narrow hallway and took them all down. This would easily makes Chuck Norris look like a sissy.

Amy Adams as April O'Neil: A computer technician who works as an assistant for scientist Baxter Stockman. She later becomes the Turtles' ally and friend.

Reason for Casting: Although SuperDude001 said that Amy might be to "soft" for April, she proved herself to be a tough woman in "The Fighter".

Josh Holloway as Casey Jones: A hockey mask wearing vigilante and one of the Turtles' allies. He carries a variety of sporting equipment (such as baseball bats, golf clubs, and hockey sticks) in a golf bag, which he uses as melee weapons.

Reason for Casting: He seemed like an ideal choice for Casey.

Villains:

Jeffrey Wright as Dr. Baxter Stockman: A scientist that creates robots called "Mousers", which would take care of New York City's rat problem. However, he secretly uses the Mousers to rob banks.

Reason for Casting: The guy is a fantastic actor and was good in "Casino Royale", "Quantum of Solace", and "Source Code".

Zach Galifianakis and Danny McBride as Rocksteady and Bebop: Two of The Shredder's thugs who were mutated into a humanoid rhino and warthog, respectively. They serve as the film's comic relief.

Ken Wantanabe as Oroku Saki/The Shredder: The leader of the notorious Foot Clan and the Turtles archenemy. He is responsible for the death of Hamato Yoshi.

Reason for Casting: A lot of people have been casting him as Splinter, but to me, he would be better as The Shredder.

Dude, I'm pretty sure that is Hedlund, but I fixed it anyway.

@ToeKneeManGo

Thanks!! I am glad that you like my Donatello choice.

@axelbratoski

What a coincidence!

@SuperDude001

Thank you!! I wonder why there is so much hate towards Topher Grace.

@JJMeylar

I am glad that you can dig it.

@JackDexx

Thanks!!

BTW, my next article is going to be a "Star Wars" fancast. It'll be two articles, the first will be the originals and the second will be the prequels. And it will be just for fun.
