Okay, first off, I want to thank you guys for the positive feedback on my Avengers fan cast. I really appreciate it. I hope to impress you guys even more with this one. Thanks again.
I won't bother to spend a bunch of time on Hal himself, since he has already been casted. So, it's Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan!
And almost every hero has a love interest, right? Spiderman and Mary Jane. Superman and Lois Lane. And the list goes on. The love in Hal Jordan's life is Carol Ferris, daughter to Carl Ferris. Carol is tough, intelligent, and not your typical damsel in distress. Deciding who to pick for Carol was a pretty tough decision, so tough that I couldn't narrow it down to one. That's right, I am choosing 2, count 'em 2, actresses for Carol Ferris. The first actress, has found success as the lead star on the hit show Damages with Glenn Close and was also in the superb Sunshine, directed by Danny Boyle. The second actress, got her breakthrough as Evie in the Mummy movies, and had a supporting role in Definately, Maybe with Reynolds. Who should be Ferris? That, my friends, is something even I can't decide. And here are Rose Byrne and Rachel Weisz as Carol Ferris!
And every good hero needs a good villain. And that is where Sinestro comes in. The Green Lantern that went rogue, Sinestro is one of the arch-nemeses of Hal Jordan. In my mind, like with Doctor Strange in the Avengers fan cast, there is only one man who can play Sinestro to his full potential, and no it is not Hugo Weaving, sorry. This actor was born for Sinestro. He plays villainous and sinister excellently, and he is absolutely perfect for the traitor. Ladies and gents...........JASON ISAACS IS SINESTRO!
But Sinestro likely won't be the only villain to appear in the film. Hector Hammond will also probably make an appearance, and I know exactly who to play the creepy, and eventually insane villain. The actor is one of the best character actors out there, and I know he would bring a certain sleaziness and creepiness to Hammond. It is Paul Giamatti as Hector Hammond!
And now onto the supporting cast of characters. I will start with Hal Jordan's own father, Martin Jordan. Martin's screen time in the movie would be fairly short considering he dies when Hal is a small boy. Essentially, he would be what Thomas Wayne was in Batman Begins. But I know who to cast as Martin for the short time he would be on screen, and if this actor was cast, it would be a great little nod to the fans. Don't know what I mean? Well you will, once I tell you that I chose..............Nathan Fillion as Martin Jordan!
And now we come to Hal's "sidekick" Tom Kalmaku. I'm not entirely sure who would be the best for this role, because I don't know a whole lot about the character, but I'll simply give a suggestion as to whom I think could pull it off. I'm sure you all have other suggestions and probably better ones but this is mine I guess. The actor is arguably known most for his role on the show Dexter, so here is C.S. Lee as Tom Kalmaku.
Now I will start casting other fellow Green Lanterns. First, my favorite, Kilowog. I will tell you right now that it is not Michael Clarke Duncan. Personally, I am a little tired of his name being suggested for Kilowog all the time, and I would also rather see him as Apocalypse or Darkseid if not Apoc. This actor has starred on such tv hits as 24 and the Unit, and he even voiced Kilowog on the Justice League animated shows, and he was always excellent. I give you Dennis Haysbert as Kilowog!
Next up, is the GL that passes his torch onto Hal. Former GL of Sector 2814, Abin-Sur. This character is very important, since he is the one who causes Hal to become the Emerald Knight. I casted this character from two points: motion-capture, and voice acting. I chose two actors to play the two parts. The mo-cap one should be fairly obvious, Doug Jones. Perfect for that part, but I wanted a more epic and strong voice for Abin-Sur, so I chose this terrific voice actor. Here is Keith David as Abin Sur!
Our next character is another alien Lantern, and he was one of the first that Hal meets and they quickly become strong friends and form a good friendship. He is the scientist from Xudar, Tomar Re. Like with Abin Sur I am casting this from two points, mo-cap, and voice acting. However, whereas in Abin Sur's case I chose two actors, with Tomar Re I will have the same actor doing both jobs. He has the calm and friendly voice that fits Tomar Re greatly, and he is also an expert at motion capture, and he could also simpky be put in prosthetics and make up, similar to Abe Sapien from the Hellboy films. And wouldn't ya know, this man portrayed Abe as well. It is Doug Jones as Tomar Re!
The next casting will be Guy Gardner, and I will say this right now, I do not like Guy Gardner. So, I was kinda not really trying to find the perfect one to portray Guy, so I went with a choice that I've seen support for on other sites, and I don't think it is too bad. But here is Jeremy Renner as Guy Gardner!
This will be my second to last casting, so it's almost over. At the plate now is Kyle Rayner. I like this character, but for some reason I found it really difficult to cast him. Even the one who I eventually chose, I am not sure about him. For some reason, I have a feeling like I am going to get a lot of flak for this pick, but to each their own. I'm sure you guys will know him from the hit show Heroes, and here he is, Milo Ventimiglia as Kyle Rayner!
Now for my last casting, the Guardians of the Universe. These guys must have the perfect voice in the movie. They must have a calm, collected, powerful, and all knowing voice. It must resonate and make the viewer say "Damn." And I know of a man who embodies all of that. His voice is legendary. Comic book fans worldwide call him a different name. My fellow comic book fans, kneel before Zod himself, Terence Stamp is The Guardians of the Universe!
