How The Amazing Spider-Man 3 Can Redeem The Franchise

How The Amazing Spider-Man 3 can easily be the best Spider-Man film.

Starting off, I like the rebooted Spider-man Franchise. It has likeable characters, terrific performances, and amazing visuals. But, some DO NOT like the franchise and I can see where there coming from. Here are some things I think could make the sequel a classic comic book film.

Mary-Jane Watson

With the death of Gwen Stacy, the question is who is Spider-man’s love interest in future films? It will likely be Mary-Jane, who is Peter Parker’s most poplar girlfriend. If in the film, the actress must be a likable character who everyone like, a strong character, and have good chemistry with Andrew Garfield like Emma Stone did in the previous two films. I honestly like Shailene Woodley is great for the role, but if she’s busy I wouldn't mind having Emma Stone dying her hair red to play Mary-Jane.

Villains

We all can agree that Spider-Man has one of the best comic book villains from any superhero. The villains look great on the big screen but how there handed just makes us disappointed. Spider-Man 3 (2007) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) went villain overload on us and didn’t give them equal amount of screen time. With Rhino being in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 let’s not try not to shoehorn as many villains as we can. Two villains at the minimum please.

The Plot

One of the most criticized topics of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the imbalance plot. I felt like Sony was doing too much. I think they should be more focused with the plot and just let it flow.

The Black Suit

With the promise of a Venom spin-off film, so we should get a look at the black suit or at least the symbiote. Right? I think Garfield could portray a black suited Spider-Man better than Tobey Maguire. It would be interesting to see that.

JJonah Jamison

What made the Raimi films good was J.K. Simmons’ interpretation of J. Jonah Jamison. We have yet to see Jamison in the rebooted series which is starting to anger many fans. Seeing his name on a computer screen isn’t going to do it either. I wouldn't even be mad if J.K. Simmons didn't come back.

Those are just some ideas that could make The Amazing Spider-Man 3 a great film. If you like this editorial please like and comment. Thanks!

Are you serious about Emma Stone as Mary Jane? I'd kind of like to see Jane Levy, who looks somewhat similar to Stone. But mostly, I don't think that Woodley is a good fit.

Getting Venom and/or the Black Suit (and/or Carnage) right is one of the best trump cards that this franchise has left to play.

We'll see how TASM 3 turns out. Frankly i've just given up on the series because TASM 2 was just so bad.

Just hire new writers and fire the writers who where responsible for TASM 2.

I hate how they went the multiple villain route even though I enjoyed the movie. Just focus on one villain dammit.

Shailene doesn't need to be in this film. They already screwed that up by cutting her from it. So find someone else. And Black Suit or GTFO.

Everyone who wants Emma Stone to be MJ just proves the point I keep trying to make-they should NOT have killed Gwen off! Yes, whiny Spiderman fanboys would have cried and moaned and ripped their hair out about not "respecting" the source material, but Gwen and Peter had great chemistry, and it would have set up interesting potential plotlines. Emma Stone is awesome in these movies, killing her off just to follow the comics is just stupid (and anyone who doubts that following the comics is why they killed her off is deluding themselves. The storyline did not require her to be killed off. It would've been much more interesting to have her be seriously injured and decide that she needs to leave Pete. And would've set up a potential love triangle if Pete meets MJ and then Gwen decides she wants him back.)

@sintzu, I think you may have the right idea. The one thing I would add is they need to wait at least 5, preferably 7-10 years before rebooting. Some time away from Spidey would be good (although they probably can't do that unless they make a new agreement with Marvel about the rights. I actually think that might be possible, because not having a Spiderman movie for that long would put even more focus on the MCU. It would probably just take the right amount of money, which would be a lot though.)

I ALMOST stopped reading when you said that Emma Stone should dye her hair and play Mary Jane. You can't be serious?

Also, you act like J Jonah Jameson was the only thing that made the Maguire films good, when in actuality thwy far superior in every way.

I say bring back the Raimi-verse!

I don't hate Amazing (ULTIMATE) Spider-Man but it was pretty weak. Saying that it was much better than the rebooted piece of crap called Robocop.

Anyways good read, btw if you want your pics up press the source button then put the code in.

Yea only way too redeem it self is too fire Tolmach and Arad. Also hire a director that is fit for the project and not a indie director

I would like to see Bryan Singer to direct a Spiderman film but Fox probably wouldn't let him

I like the over-all tone of Amazing spider man more than the raimi ones, which had a more "campier" feel, also rewatching the raimi ones, I noticed how dated the graphics looked sometimes,Also I like garfield as spidey more, he dosent do those vacant, open-mouthed stares like macguire did all the time, and his whips were good, and had that classic spidey attitude, I will say the 2nd amazing spider man felt kinda jumbled story wise and found myself kind of lost in spots, so it does have it's flaws, I'm hoping maybe they'll actually see the weak points of their formula and adjust accordingly, but who knows?

@fettman89,

Maguire only messed up in Spider-man 3, your peter parker is a selfish jerk who doesn't help out his friends in the second movie, and also turns into a creepy stalker who stalks his girl friend from the roof, and acts too much of a douche bag for me to consider him as a likable spider man. Maybe he should reduce the level of doucheness in these movies.

There is not much to distinguish from both spider mans. Garfield's spider man is only marginally or a level better due to making more jokes than Maguire did.

Garfield's peter parker becomes more confident than Maguire's, but it still doesn't compensate for the fact that he's still an asshole. I'm giving the PP to maguire for this one.

Garfield is not perfect for the role.
