Script by Tom Holland(Fright Night Part 1 & 2) and Shining Author Stephen King(As Screenwriter: Pet Cemetary, Cat's Eye)

John “Jack” Torrence – Chris Sarandon
Jack Torrence Father and Husband who's constantly battling his deadly and life changing addiction to Alcohol costs him his job and integrity. Before he allows it to cost him his family Jack himself force the alcohol away in favor of starting over fresh by taking a job as caretaker of the Overlook Hotel in the hopes of earning enough money to keep his family sustained and writing a play and novel to keep help provide for his family, But as his desires grow stronger at the Overlook he begins transforming back into the monster he abandon.
The Reason why: Chris Sarandon is without a doubt one of my favorite Actors of the 80's and 90's. He is a remarkable actor who fits the roles every need in terms of acting ability and having a striking resemblance to Jack from an Early Addition cover of the Novel. Now don't get me wrong, Jack was fantastic as Jack Torrence, but his transformation into a madman wasn't shocking at all but more or less expected and therefore took all the dramatic turn out of it.
Wendy Torrence – Katy Sagal
Wendy Torrence the loving wife and mother who reluctantly agrees to go to the Overlook Hotel for the winter with her husband having begun to regain faith in him since he has quite drinking. She fears the worst for her family as she begins to notice Jack slipping into his old habits causing her to doubt Jack's integrity and forces her into the fight for her and her son's life.
The Reason Why: Katy is by far one of the most talented actress who's been stuck in everyone's mind as either Peg Bundy or Taranga Leela, now having a prominent role in Sons of Anarchy the world is beginning to see how great an actress she is and at this time she would've been the Ideal Wendy Torrence as she has personal and physical qualities that embody the character that King wrote.
Danny Torrence – Macaulay Culkin
Daniel Anthony Torrence the young child of Jack and Wendy Torrence, in the novel he had suffered a broken arm which combined with an incident at Jack's former place of work, a Prep School, served as a wake up call for Jack. Now he struggles to raise Danny right without beating him, Danny himself is an extremely gifted youngster with The Shine, which temporarily shows him visions of the future and causes miniature Seizures in which random things might occur also allowing him to contact his parents and his friend Tony and Dick.
The Reason Why: Granted there were better child actors but none have had the opportunity such as Culkin to play the main character in a film and get well received by critics which serves well as Danny can arguable be considered the Main Character of the novel, at the time of the early 90's he would've served the role well and played Danny exceedingly well.
Tony – Neil Patrick Harris
Danny's best friend, believed to be imaginary shows Danny visions of the future in hope of preventing him and his family from being murdered inside the Overlook
The Reason Why: NPH is a fantastic actor, and despite the role being relatively short for a film in the 90's it would've served him best to be in this role which allows him some range as an actor.
Ricahrd "Dick" Halloran – Ossie Davis
Old but well mannered and friendly cook of the Overlook hotel discovers Danny's ability for the Shine causing him to worry about the families well being. When receiving word of Danny's predicament he ventures back to the Overlook during his vacation in the hopes of being able to save his young friend.
The Reason Why: What really needs to be said about such a fantastic actor, i regret learning of him from Bubba Ho-Tep and wished i had seen his earlier work before he passed. Heis by far a remarkable actor who without a doubt embodies the character of Halloran.
Stuart Ullman- Donald Pleasance
The Overlook's current owner who holds a deep hatred for Jack due to the characters former Alcoholism, but powerless to him as he was hired by the Overlooks board of Directors he issues a fearful warning in hope that Jack can control himself long enough to look after the famed hotel.
The Reason Why: Donald Pleasance's last film was sadly in 1996 playing his Iconic role of Dr. Samuel Loomis. He's an actor who would fit the short role very well. Pleasance is a great actor and veteran who was very well respected and would be absolutely fantastic for this role.
Delbert Grady – Robert Englund
The Demonic ghost of the former Hotel Caretaker who had committed suicide. Takes it upon himself to tempt Jack into insanity in hope of transforming Danny into a ghost.
The Reason Why: Rob Englund is iconic in playing various Monsters, He is best known as the Original Freddy Krueger and for the role of Delbert Grady in a 90's adaptation was an obvious choice Englund has style and the profile to play such a character and despite screen time make an impact.
This is my Shining fan cast in the spirit of Halloween I'm going to do at least 5 more my actors are chosen and I can't wait to post them I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I enjoyed making them and as always feedback is encouraged.
