Metal Gear Solid movie fan cast.

My opinion of a closely realistic take on a Metal Gear Solid movie fan cast.

I start today my comicbookmovie.com journey into the realm of articles and writing other such ramblings.

After looking at a few fan casts I've decided to begin with the critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series, which has had its fair share of movie rumours, fan casts and nonsense written about it but I've never seen a 'realistic' cast.

Here are my thoughts and opinions on actors that could, in my eyes, play Solid Snake and friends.

Metal Gear Solid characters

Meryl Silverburgh - Carey Mulligan

I'm putting a lot of faith in Carey Mulligan as she tends to act in soft played roles, but she is an ever growing actress and would fit perfectly in them young soldiers boots giving us a different, yet great, performance as a shy girl wanting to play soldier.

Roy Campbell - Bryan Cranston

I never would have expected this from Malcolm in the Middles dad but Bryan Cranston is proving his worth as a serious actor. He fits the bill as the middle aged Campbell in the original Metal Gear Solid.

Naomi Hunter - Emily Blunt

I kind of wanted to steer clear of bigger names but with what's to come I thought I would include the wonderful Emily Blunt, I really don't need to say much about why she should play Naomi Hunter, I mean, look at her.

Frank Jaeger/Gray Fox (Ninja) - Scott Adkins

I'm on the fence about this one myself, playing Ninja I find Scott Adkins would prove best with the martial arts and various tricks. Anyone who has seen Adkins perform whether it be the stunt double Deadpool in X-Men Origins or his main role in the Undisputed series will know he's a talented man. As my doubts come from the dialogue we'd have to see how he manages.

Hal Emmerich ( Otacon ) - Cillian Murphy

An obvious choice I thought without much need to explain why, Murphy is one of the finest actors today and a softer toned Dr Crane would fit Hal Emmerich perfect.

Revolver Ocelot - Gary Oldman

Another big name dropped in ( budgets gone up it seems ) but there are not many options here, Oldman can play anyone and anything in any movie, what more can you say.

Mei Ling - Lucy Liu

As she would only play a tiny role I'd like Lucy to have this little cameo for no other reason than I think she's great.

Donald Anderson - Dennis Haysbert

No comments needed.

Sniper Wolf - Famke Janssen

Age and good looks almost spot on for Sniper Wolf, Famke Janssen is one of those actors you pick for a fan cast and think, woah, I actually picked something right. You don't have to agree as this is all my thoughts and opinions but at least we know Famke has played her fair share of foreign parts and would fit into the cold hearted Wolf role perfect.

Psycho Mantis - Michael Sheen

Perhaps my strangest choice of actor for this fan cast but with reason, Sheen is a respected actor and rightly so, his roles vary dramatically in terms of performance and I think that he has what it takes to play a good Mantis, even if he didn't ( though he would have to ) slim down. His voice as "The Room" in Dr Who - The Doctors Wife proves his vocal range is fantastic and he could easily mold himself into Psycho Mantis.

Vulcan Raven - Idris Elba

Up and comer Idris Elba first caught my attention in Guy Ritchies Rock 'n' Rolla and since then is getting bigger and better roles, such as the gate keeper in Thor ( which got me thinking of this role ) and a part in the hugely anticipated Prometheus. I didn't want to choose someone too big to be taken seriously and I believe that Idris has that "look" and could do very well as the shaman.

Liquid Snake - Toby Stephens

I had to steal this man from a couple of other fan casts I've seen for many reasons, his accent could nail that of Liquids, his look in the picture is fantastic, he's not that well known being a key to the success of this ( some big names had to be included of course ) on top of that he's actually a good actor, he was great in the Miss Marple TV movie I watched recently.

Solid Snake - Too many

This one is the key, the protagonist, the main man. After picking at my brain for what seemed like months I couldn't choose one, I had to choose many, a quick list of would be's.

Christian Bale - One of the biggest talents working today, would nail it left right and center, but Bale being pushed into playing it wrong would hurt the movie too much, sort of like Terminator ( not his fault ).

Eric Bana - Another big name, one with a huge variety of characters played, he has a good look about him and could easily adapt that gravel voice, my doubts would mainly be with the look.

Matthew Fox - Looks like Snake, sure, but could he be Snake, that's my only issue, acting ability on this type of character.

Hugh Jackman - Too perfect to play Snake? One of the coolest men on the planet would no doubt nail it but when compared to the likes of Bana or Bale it's a very tough choice.

Let us be honest though, if times were better it would have to be this man and this man only.

Finally for comic purpose

Nastasha Romanenko - Linda Henry

Shirley Carter from UK soap Eastenders, I can add no more.

I have no idea how you could possibly say tom cruise for snake...not right at all. Everything else was fine. But since he was the inspiration I cant help but feel sad that Kurt Russell is too old for it now, maybe as big boss.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't cast Cruise as Snake now, but Mission Impossible 2 days would have been great, vocally not capable but it's Tom Cruise!

Haha, reminds me of the fact Solid Snake was based off Van Damme and Christopher Walken, wouldn't cast either mind you.
