Edgyoutsider here, life has been keeping me busy between looking for work and persuing my passion for screewriting. While I work on my script for, For I Have Sinned, I figured I would share with you guys an excerpt from the beginning of my fan fic of Mortal Kombat. I will accept constructive criticism and hopefully, you guys enjoy it.
FADE IN:
Shinnok and Raiden were two elder gods who waged war for the fate of Earthrealm. The Elder Gods intervened and created the, Mortal Kombat tournament. A tournament that was to bring balance to the realms. The rules were simple. Win ten consecutive Mortal Kombat tournaments and you can merge the opposing and defending realms. Outworld has conquered Edenia and has won nine against Earthrealm.
EXT: EDENIA - A THOUSAND YEARS AGO - NIGHT
Reiko, a tall man with a hammer and mask similar to that of Shao Kahn, storms through Edenia as his army breaks into the castle of Queen Sindel.
REIKO
I want that door down in the next thirty seconds. The emperor wants Queen Sindel immediately.
TARKATAN #1
What of the child?
REIKO
Take her until further notice.
Baraka, leader of the Tarkatan's, approaches Reiko from behind.
BARAKA
I could have gotten the Queen and child by now.
REIKO
I have a special job for you, Baraka.
BARAKA (GROWLING)
Good. I need something to do now!
REIKO
Kill King Jerrod. Make sure it's as quick as possible.
BARAKA
Done.
Baraka sprints toward the gate and uses his blades to start climbing. The rest follow suit.
REIKO
That works too.
Reiko walks towards the gate and breaks the gates down using his hammer. The rest of the army sprints through and causes chaos. Lives taken in brutal and gleeful fashion.
INT: CASTLE - MAIN HALLWAY
Baraka smells his environment as he searches for the King.
BARAKA
I'm gonna find you. I know you're in here.
King Jerrod peeks behind the corner and sees Baraka walk up the stairs. King Jerrod starts running the opposite direction, hiding Sindel and baby Kitana in one of the rooms.
KING JERROD
Hide in this closet. You'll be safe until I fend off the beast.
QUEEN SINDEL
Jerrod, there's an entire army looking for us. We won't survive.
KING JERROD
If I don't survive, I know you'll at least survive.
QUEEN SINDEL
How do you know?
KING JERROD
Every King needs a Queen. Shao Kahn is going to want a queen.
Jerrod kisses Sindel as he walks her to the hallway closet, closes and locks it. Just in time as Baraka is just around the corner.
BARAKA
I know you're not far Jerrod. Might as well give up now.
Jerrod starts walking towards the corner as he pulls out his sword.
KING JERROD
Tonight, you will die monster.
BARAKA
Fine by me. But Edenia will fall over your corpse by my army.
King Jerrod turns the corner and attacks Baraka as the two engage in an intense fight. The fight eventually ends with Jerrod killing a couple of Tarkatan, turning around and Baraka jabs one of the blades in his forearms through Jerrod's throat, causing massive blood loss and death.
BARAKA
Find Sindel and the child.
The other Tarkatans search the castle looking for Sindel and baby Kitana until Baraka himself finds the Queen. He pulls the door open, breaking it off the hinges.
EXT: CASTLE GROUNDS - NIGHT
Barka is seen dragging Sindel to General Reiko as one of the tarkatans carries Kitana.
REIKO
Jerrod?
BARAKA
Dead.
REIKO
Are you sure, Baraka?
BARAKA
My full blade pierced his throat.
