My Cast for The Hobbit

My Cast for The Hobbit

I've grown impatient, so I decided to put forward my own cast. Part I: the dwarfs

Thorin is described as being very haughty, stern, and officious. He is a capable and a cunning warrior, if not a particularly inspiring or clever leader. For this role it I believe an actor equal To Ian Mckellin is necessary as he is often seen a almost a peer to Gandalf:Christopher Plummer, he's had a great career and he's both strong and gruff...think his character from UP with a beard.

Among the dwarves in The Hobbit, Balin was the second-eldest Dwarf on the quest (behind Thorin), and so he spoke for the party often and was considered their look out man. For his role I decided on someone with a look of both old age and inteligence: John Hurt, he just has the lovely bespeckled look of erudition.

Dwalin is the younger brother of Balin, and was the first Dwarf to arrive at Bag End. Pete Postlethwaite, his role as the the priest in Romeo+Juliet puts him on this list, he just has that surely look to him.

Bifur was one of the twelve companions of Thorin and Bilbo on the Quest of Erebor. The cousin of Bofur and Bombur, he was not descended from Durin. He was fond of raspberry jam and apple-tart, wore a yellow hood and played the clarinet.Brian Denis Cox, he just looks jolly and gruff at the same time.

The cousin of Bifur and brother of Bombur, he was not descended from Durin. Bofur liked mince-pies and cheese at tea, and like his cousin Bifur, played the clarinet and sported a yellow hood. Sir Michael John Gambon, he's soft spoken and good natured.

"Poor, fat" Bombur is frequently shown as having been the last in everything, foolish and making mistakes. Brian Blessed fits this part, big and oafish.

Dori is described as "a decent fellow, despite his grumbling," while Thorin described him as being the strongest member of the company.William Hurt, he's got that mental toughness about him.

Nori was one of the twelve companions of Thorin and Bilbo on the Quest of Erebor. He was the brother of Ori and Dori. jimmy_yuill, a common man in the back ground of kenneth bragnaugh's movies.

Ori was one of the twelve companions of Thorin and Bilbo on the Quest of Erebor, and brother to Dori and Nori. Steve Pemperton

Oin and his brother Gloin were counted on to start the campfires.Don Stanton and dan Stanton

Kíli was one of the twelve companions of Thorin and Bilbo on the Quest of Erebor. He and his brother Fíli were the sons of Dís, Thorin's sister.
Jeff Danials and Dave Coulier.

I was getting kind of worn out at the end so take those last few with a grain of salt ;p
