Justice League Issue 2 Outline

Starts out with red Arrow visibly worried. The Flash notices this and tries to make him feel better. He says that fighting a super powered villain isn’t nearly as bad as their current situation. It is then revealed that they are being carried by a simple construct from Green Lantern’s ring.

The Flash then goes on to ramble about how the Green Lantern should be called the Green Ring, since he fights with his ring and not his lantern. Red Arrow is only half listening.

They finally arrive at Keystone City. Immediately, they find themselves in an intense battle with Amazo. All the heroes, with the exception of Red Arrow, attempt to fight Amazo. No one is successful in landing a serious blow to the android. Red Arrow, however, stands back and watches.

Suddenly, Batman shows up. He attempts to use martial arts to take down Amazo, but Amazo knocks him out cold.

The moment this happens, Red Arrow acts. He runs to Batman and takes something out of Batman’s utility belt. Red Arrow the runs to the top of a pile of wreckage and tells Superman to get close to Amazo and not to let go of him, no matter what.

Superman does this and Red Arrow raises his bow. It is then revealed that Red Arrow had taken a shard of kryptonite from Batman’s utility belt and tied it to the end of an arrow.

He shoots the arrow and it hits Amazo in the face. Amazo blows up. Red Arrow stands there, looking proud of himself.

The fire dies away and it is revealed that Superman has been injured in the explosion. Wonder Woman is the first one to help him. She picks up Superman, shoots Red Arrow a pissed off look, and flies away. Green Lantern encases Flash in a construct, both visibly mad at Red Arrow, and they both fly away, leaving Red Arrow.

Red Arrow turns to where Batman is laying and tells him to get up. Batman gets up, revealing that he had been faking the entire time. When Red Arrow asks why he had faked it, Batman said that it was a test to see if Red Arrow was ready to do what was necessary to get the job done.

When Batman and Red Arrow return to the Hall, Batman goes to check up on Superman while the rest of the League yells at Red Arrow. Red Arrow said that Superman knew the risks when he “put on the cape, just like the rest of us.” Red Arrow leaves angrily.

Diana enters the medical room, where Bruce is watching over Clark. Bruce tells Diana that the kryptonite had just gotten under Clarks skin. Essentially, he just needs to, “sweat it out.”

Bruce says that even though Roy’s actions were rash, he did what he had to do to stop Amazo.

Diana sighs and says that she knows. She then asks Bruce who could have sent Amazo, as Ivo has been dead for years.

Bruce replies that he has his suspicions, but he just can’t think of any motives.

Shift to the compound. Zod and someone else are looking at a series of computer screens. Zod says that his efforts of stealing Ivo’s blueprints for Amazo were in vain, as Amazo didn’t manage to kill any League members, not even the humans. The other figure says that Amazo accomplished what it was meant to accomplish.

The figure walks away and Zod follows him. Zod asks him what he meant, what was Amazo supposed to accomplish? The figure tells Zod to have patience.

Shift to the diner. Roy walks inside and sits down. Anna walks up to him. They begin to talk. Anna says that her shift ends in just a few minutes.

Roy and Anna walk through the streets of Star City together, laughing and talking. They reach an apartment building that Anna says is hers. They kiss and she goes into the building.

As Roy is walking away, he notices something. Roy stops and takes out a pair of brass knuckles and puts them on. Roy then smirks, takes off the knuckles and says, “You can come out now.”

Clark Kent reveals himself from the shadows. Roy says that he isn’t nearly as good as Bruce when it comes to staying hidden. Clark replies:

Clark:
Well Bruce may be able to hide real well, but can he shoot fire from his eyes?

Roy and Clark talk about a hero starting a relationship with a normal person. Clark says that when you start a relationship, you put that person in a lot of danger. He asks Roy if he really wants to put Anna in that danger. Roy replies that it isn’t his choice to make before walking away.

The next day, Red Arrow gets to the Hall to find The Flash waiting for him. The Flash apologizes for getting mad at him. He says that Green Lantern is sorry as well, but is on a mission from Batman.

When Red Arrow asks what kind of mission, The Flash replies that he has no idea.

We the see Superman entering a large mansion. As he walks down the hallway, people (mostly servants) point and stare.

Superman then enters a room that has a very thin and sick Lex Luthor lying on a bed with a bunch of machines hooked up to him.

Superman walks over to Lex, who laughs at the sight of him.

Lex:
Well, well, well. It seems that the invincible Man of Steel has come to me, the dying Lex Luthor for help. How ironic.

Superman:
How do you know that I’m here for your help?

Lex:
Because the only other reason someone that hated me as much as you do would come to my deathbed to gloat. But you’re above such human behavior, aren’t you?

Superman:
I’m here to offer you one last chance to finally do some good with your life.

Lex (bemused):
I’m listening.

Superman:
Someone has taken your place as the crime lord of Metropolis. I need any information that you may have.

Lex:
Let me get this straight. You want me to give you information on the most powerful and dangerous man in Metropolis, if not the world? After you did this to me?

Superman (confused):
What are you talking about?

Lex (livid):
Kryptonite radiation. Carrying it around for affects humans, too! It gave me cancer!

Superman:
That’s your own fault, Luthor. Not mine. You chose to carry around that thing with you.

Lex:
Well excuse me if I have to be constantly prepared for my enemies! Not all of us can shoot fire from out eyes or just throw a truck at them!

Superman:
You chose to make me your enemy, Luthor. It could’ve been different. We could have worked together to bring peace to our world. But instead you chose a life of crime.

Lex:
This is not your world! It’s mine! Get out!

Superman:
Can’t you be a decent human being for once in your life?

Lex:
That’s just it! Unlike you, I’m a human! And humans are not decent!

As Superman is leaving, Lex calls out to him:

Lex:
Do you have any suspects?

Superman:
Batman has his suspicions, but-

Lex:
They’re probably right.

With that, Superman leaves. Lex Luthor is seen chucking to himself, as if he knows something that Superman doesn’t.
