Power Rangers: Emerald Rage

Power Rangers: Emerald Rage

A Sequel to My Original Reboot Plot

The Easter egg mentioned in my previous plot can be ignored (it doesn’t set up Tommy’s character correctly). First of all, Rita Repulsa has escaped her hellish prison. Gathering back her forces, she begins to form new plans that focus on the destruction of the Rangers. In the mean time, the Rangers have been off-Earth patrolling our galaxy and have come back for some R n’ R. Some years have passed and the families of the Rangers have thought their children missing for all of those years (this will bring about a turning point later). Rita gets a wicked idea and, using energy in her staff harnessed from Jason in their last battle, creates a “morpher.” This is bestowed to Tommy Oliver, a college student attending the local university of Angel Grove. Rita’s “morpher” turns Tommy evil and gives him the mission of destroying the Rangers. This new, green Ranger makes friends with the other Rangers as Rita concocts a plan to challenge the Rangers. Zordon at first does not trust this strange, new Ranger. The Rangers soon learn that Rita is free. Rita unleashes an army on Angel Grove to draw out the Rangers. Tommy is a great help in this battle and is the main reason for the Rangers’ victory. After this, Tommy has earned Zordon’s trust. Zordon gives Tommy his own “zord” which appears to be some sort of dragon. This is a “zord” that was recently built by Alpha, which was to replace Zordon’s aged “zord” when a sixth Ranger was chosen. Jason becomes slightly jealous when he learns that Tommy is given the new “zord.” The film goes on with more confrontations with Rita’s forces. As the film progresses, Jason begins to like and trust Tommy less. Eventually, Tommy destroys the “command center,” revealing that he is an agent of Rita’s evil. This attack on the “command center” almost kills Zordon. Jason and Tommy fight viciously as Rita attacks the Earth, which the remaining Rangers attempt to dissolve. Tommy beats Jason, leaving him badly wounded, and goes to aid Rita in her destruction of the Rangers. Tommy, using the “zord” given to him by Zordon, attacks the Rangers. The other Rangers summon their “zords”, but they stand no chance against Tommy as a separated four. Jason acts as quickly as he can. Jason summons his “zord” and rushes to his friends’ aid. The five “zords” combine and the Rangers narrowly defeat Tommy, destroying his “zord.” An electric shock during the “zord’s” destruction frees Tommy of Rita’s control. The six Rangers, now united as a pure team, fight Rita. Rita is, after a long, hard battle, destroyed and her staff is thrown out into space. Unfortunately, Jason is killed during this fight (between Rita’s powers and wounds left from his confrontation with Tommy, he stood little chance of surviving). As the film winds down, the Rangers mourn their fallen friend. Trini and Zack, longing to be reunited with their families, decide to abandon their roles as Rangers (true, Zack’s immediate family was killed in the first film, but he has other relatives that he wants to be with). Tommy reluctantly accepts his new role as the Rangers’ leader (Billy was first offered the role, but he did not see himself as good a candidate as Tommy). Zordon gives his old “morpher” to Tommy and life goes on (the white Ranger won’t be seen in this film, but Tommy being given Zordon’s “morpher” indicates that we’ll see whitey in a sequel). Once again, better writing will have to fill in my gaps and make the movie less corny. This is the movie that I want to see because Tommy was always my favorite Ranger. This clearly sets up a sequel to feature Rocky DeSantos, Adam Park, and Aisha Campbell. Until then, three Rangers are gone, you get to be a little depressed, and a new villain gets to find Rita’s staff floating in space and use it to fight the Rangers.

The Cast:

Tommy Oliver- Rick Gonzalez (Courtesy of Bohemiben)

OR

Jared Padelecki

I forgot these two in my previous cast, but they will appear in both films:

Bulk- Ehtan Suplee

Skull- Jason Mewes

Also, Jason David Frank would make a cameo as Tommy's college professor.

Oh god....

Though in fact JARED from SUPERNATURAL should be right at home for POWER RANGERS, he might actually make us believe he can act! : p

AXL @ Great story, not much of a RANGERS fan myself, but good one man!

Don't like either Tommy choice, when I was growing up Tommy was always my favourite and neither of them say Green Ranger to me. Great story though. But dude...WHITE RANGER!!!!!! ;D

I'd have to pick Jared over Rick due to the fact that I have only seen Rick due humor in Reaper not intense action like what would be needed.
