Marvel/DC crossover fights....not what you might expect.

I’m sure everyone remembers the long running comic book information magazine called Wizard. For those that don’t, it was much more than a simple price guide. Wizard gave us the latest news on comic books, movies, anime, interviews and previews. I collected this magazine every month, just like my favorite comics.

My favorite articles were “Casting Call” and “Last Man Standing”.

Casting Call- A feature proposing the "dream" cast for potential film adaptations of various comic books. We have renamed it fan cast here at CBM.com

Last Man Standing- A dream "faceoff" between two different characters or teams, always of different companies and/or universes. The feature would detail a brief showdown between the two, including the victor.

Here are some very cool examples.
Spiderman/Batman ----------------------- Darkseid/Thanos

Batman/Snake Eyes ---------------------- H.E.R.B.I.E./Herbie The Love Bug

Lara Croft/Indiana Jones --------------- He-Man/Lion-O

Darth Vader/Dr. Doom ------------------- Deadpool/Boba Fett

I decided to do a thing here that is very similar to Wizard’s “Last Man Standing”. I had done a similar little series last week with heroes and villains from Marvel and DC throwing down. I tried to get people to analyze the fights and possibly discuss how awesome they were, who would win and how great I am.
I had a hero from Marvel take on a villain from DC and vice versa. It seems everyone wanted a hero against hero or villain against villain, which makes sense since the good guy always wins.

This has been done before I know…..but not by me. I still want to see the obvious fight like Hawkeye/Green Arrow or Taskmaster /Prometheus, but I want to be shocked and amazed while keeping it close and even.
So I’m going to pick a few of each Marvel and DC bouts that I want to see. I’m not going to repeat the ones we’ve already seen like Wolverine/ Lobo or Captain America/ Batman. Please let me know what you think about these. If you disagree, we’ll discuss it and I’ll prove you wrong.
I’m not going to give stats and such for the combatants. If you don’t know them by now then you’re not a real fanboy. This is just a quick, very basic description of the fight.

HEROES

5. NIGHTCRAWLER vs MISTER MIRACLE
I picture this fight taking place on Apokolips. Scott Free would take the defensive at the start of this fight. He would counter everything Kurt Wagner threw at him. Nightcrawler wouldn’t be able to gain ground since he is playing it safe, gauging his opponent. Mr. Miracle would slowly start his offensive move while Nightcrawler narrowly escapes trap after trap. It would go back and forth for awhile, neither gaining the upper hand. After a couple of hours Nightcrawler realizes he can’t compete at this level with Mr. Miracle and decides to take a risk and change tactics. Nightcrawler would allow Miracle to move in and then’ razzle dazzle’ him with some fast teleporting and some expert hand to hand skills and finally beat Miracle down. Winner NIGHTCRAWLER

4. MS MARVEL vs SUPERGIRL

A joint investigation suddenly goes wrong when these two lovely ladies tearing up the docks of New York. It starts in an abandoned warehouse full of A.I.M tech where Ms. Marvel discovers a crate containing a small red crystal. Supergirl falls to her knees upon exposure from the radiation. Ms. Marvel attempts to help her but is surprised by a right uppercut. Ms Marvel begins to fight back and seems to hold her own inside the warehouse. The fight quickly demolishes the building. Once outside the fight spreads over the docks destroying buildings and ships. Ms. Marvel tries to reach Supergirl but the affects of the red kryptonite is too strong.
Ms. Marvel goes airborne to move away from innocents. The fight was pretty even in the confined spaces of the docks but once in the air Supergirl takes over. She attacks with blinding speed, quick blows and heat vision blasting Ms. Marvel from every direction. A dazed Ms. Marvel falls from the sky towards the city; Supergirl recovers from the red kryptonite just in time to catch Ms. Marvel before she hits the ground. Winner SUPERGIRL

3. DAREDEVIL vs HAWKMAN
This takes place at night on the rooftops of the buildings. Both are equally matched here. Hawkman’s flight and keen eyesight matches Daredevil’s stealth skills and heightened senses. The cat and mouse game would continue while they feel each other out. Hawkman begins to grow weary and tries to flush Daredevil out of the shadows. Matt Murdock is patient and alert as he leads Carter Hall through the maze of buildings. Daredevil jumps out and every so often and pummels Hawkman. He anticipates another sneak attack and turns the tables. Now the two go toe to toe and after a long and drawn out fist fight, an exhausted Daredevil waits for an enraged and battered Hawkman to get desperate and lands the final blow knocking Hawkman to the ground. Winner DAREDEVIL

2. HULK vs SHAZAM
The Hulk outruns the U. S Army and hides in a large mountain range near Fawcett City. Billy Batson hears a radio broadcast at WHIZ that the Hulk may be heading to his city. He quickly changes and tries to intercept the Hulk before he lands in a populated area. The two heroes are surprised and startled as they meet at the top of the mountains. The Hulk attacks instinctively and Shazam tries to reason with him but to no avail. The Hulk’s frustration grows as this opponent shrugs off powerful blows. Captain Marvel realizes this is about to get rough.
Everything escalates quickly and it grows more violent. Tons of mountain rubble is sent flying for miles from the impacts. Shazam realizes this is getting out of hand and grabs the Hulk and shouts “SHAZAM”. A giant bolt of lightning slams into the Hulk’s chest causing a huge explosion. (The lightning doesn’t change Shazam to Billy because it never reaches him). As the smoke clears, Cap thinks it’s over and the Hulk is out cold. All he did was make him mad and we know what happens when he gets mad. The Wisdom of Solomon or Speed of Mercury was no match for the ferocity of the Hulk and before he could react the Hulk hammers him with mountain shattering blows over and over until a limp broken Captain Marvel is tossed down the mountain side. Winner HULK

1. SHE HULK vs WONDER WOMAN
darkknightmare2012
This will be a MAIN EVENT anywhere. I think this starts outside of a court house in New York with media and protesters all around. Jennifer Walters was brought in as a consultant on a case concerning the “Xemnu the Titan” television rights. A group of rebellious protesters begin fighting and it quickly grows out of control. Diana Price, who was a fan of the children’s show, tries to calm things down until she sees a large green woman roughing up unruly people. Wonder Woman realizes it’s a Hulk and attacks her. The crowd disperses quickly. The She Hulk calms Wonder Woman enough to explain that she was only there as part of the prosecution. Wonder Woman enraged that She Hulk was part of the team that kept her favorite show from airing Shout out “BY HERA!” and continues to attack her. She Hulk defends herself and the fight is even for awhile. Wonder Woman uses her magic lasso to pull She Hulk into the air by flying straight up from the city. Around 50,000 above the city Wonder Woman spins She Hulk at super speed and throwing her far out into the ocean. Later Wonder Woman is delighted to find all 3 seasons of “Xemnu” on ebay for $2.50, and realizes that she may have over reacted. Winner WONDER WOMAN
