Velma is invited, along with 23 of the most intelligent people, to the Estate of Dr Anton Arcane on the premise that these great minds can create an Eco-friendly devise that will marry itself to the swampy environment that surrounds the estate and produce a clean, pollutant-free atmosphere that can become so powerful it will reverse the effects of global warming. The expensive event is sponsored by the left-winged, liberal billionaire, Oliver Queen. The truth behind the 'meeting of the minds' is that Arcane is going to use their collective genius to syphon the natural life from the green, channeling the essence of the Earth onto himself, gaining immortality so long as the green exists so that he may prosper by draining it's life. Guests are welcomed with open arms. With Velma is Scooby and the gang and accompanying Ollie is his girlfriend, Dinah Lance.
While tinkering away to build a better future, the guests fall custom to the haunting of a local legend, spanning generations, known as the Swamp Thing. Compare this to the Moth-man and Jersey Devil. The gang runs into Green Arrow and Black Canary, who, themselves, try and resolve the hauntings. Whereas Daphne crushes on Ollie, Velma's glasses get foggy for Green Arrow. Fred find himself struck by Black Canary and Shaggy goes gah-gah for Dinah.
Mystery Inc, Green Arrow and Black Canary learn the urban legend of the Swamp Thing dating back to sightings during WWII by the friendly daughter of Dr Arcane, Abbie. Before she can mention Holland, Arcane interrupts. As the team believes the Swamp Thing to be a hoax, they begin to suspect some of the guests for various reasons. Dr Jason Woodrue, it seems, would rather this colaberation fail than share his knowledge with others. Lex Luthor unexpectedly shows up. His contempt for business rival, Queen, and jealousy that it isn't he who is attached to this groundbreaking movement, leaves the gang questioning the length to which he will go to see this fail. The final suspect is Abbie, who is oddly bitter towards her father.
Green Arrow is extremely witty and a laugh-a-minute, so to is the interaction between the gang, himself and Canary. As the story unravels, we learn the truth behind the origin of our somber hero, Swamp Thing. Scooby, the gang, Green Arrow and Black Canary save the day. The true meaning behind the gathering, and the treachery that led to the binding of the swamp muck and Alec Holland, reaches it's tipping point as the newly liberated Abbie finally stands against her father in the name of honor and justice. Not until after the protagonists leave do we learn that the creature is not Holland and it is, in fact, an elemental that has absorbed the memories of Holland. Feel free to imagine any number of mad scientists who may Easter egg themselves in there as guests. The main cast is Mystery Inc Green Arrow Black Canary Anton Arcane Abbie Arcane With Dr Jason Woodrue Lex Luthor And Swamp Thing If Marvel saw fit to one-up WB/DC, they may solicit the talents of Alvin and the Chipmunks in Alvin and the Chipmunks: Agents of SHIELD.
