Here is my take on Spider-Man, I'm a huge fan of
The Amazing Spider-Man but I would have opted for a more mature and older Spider-Man, so now I give you my take on Spider-Man, hope you enjoy!
PLOT:
"It's about remembering someone so important to me I was going to spend the rest of my life with her." What Peter Parker didn't know was that meant Gwen Stacy would only get to spend the rest of her life with him. This is the story of how they fell in love. Or more appropriately, how they almost didn't fall in love. Welcome to Spider-Man's life. Bad before good. It's kind of amazing. So to get the girl of his dreams, he'll have to run the gauntlet of the Lizard, Kraven, The cops and a mysterious man in the shadows controlling it all. In the story about Peter Parker's first love, Gwen Stacy. Highlighted by the introduction of Mary Jane Watson, it is a critical moment in Spider-Man's life when everything was just coming together - only to fall apart.
TONE:
The tone of this movie would be very similar to that of
500 Days Of Summer, the quirky humor and the really emotional scenes I think best captures the look and feel of the graphic novel
Spider-Man: Blue. Of course we would also have some action in the film, so the action would be similar to that of
Spider-Man 2, where the action wasn’t to climatic but it wasn’t to easy. The film would be a mix of
500 Days Of Summer and
Spider-Man 2.
MUSIC:
Very similar to
500 Days Of Summer, if you have read the book of
Spider-Man: Blue you would know where I’m coming from. The book is very quirky, the way it’s drawn to the way it’s written it’s very approachable and very fun. I recently re-read the book the other day with the
500 Days Of Summer soundtrack playing on my iPhone and it was perfect, everything about it was marvelous. Now of course you would need a big song for the film or a theme, with this film look no further than Paramore’s “Still Into You”. I think the song captures Peter Parker & Gwen Stacy’s relationship the best.
CAST:
Peter Parker/Spider-Man: Joseph Gordon Levitt
Yes I get it, you can obviously tell I’m a huge
500 Days Of Summer fan. But I think Levitt fits the role of Peter Parker so well, I mean. I read
Spider-Man: Blue with Joseph’s voice playing whenever Peter Parker spoke and I thought it was perfect, obviously this film would not be set in high school but would focus on a much older Peter Parker, late years of College.
Gwen Stacy: Gillian Jacobs
The star of NBC’s comedy
Community, Gillian in my eyes pulls of Gwen best, after seeing her cast in Road dog's Spidey fancast I never thought other wise, she is downright perfect for the role, she has the look down, her sassy attitude would be perfect for Gwen also. I can’t help but think she would have awesome chemistry with Joseph Gordon Levitt which would make the relationship very convincing.
Harry Osborn: Elijah Wood
This one was very hard to cast, in
Spider-Man: Blue, Harry is similar to the 616 version as oppose to the Ultimate version, so it was very hard to cast someone who can pull off the nerdy look and rich kid look at the same time, so I thought about it for about 2 days and then I watched
Wilfred on TV, and I saw Elijah Wood. I knew right then and there he was perfect, he has the look down, he could so pull off the rich boy attitude and I would love to see him and Joseph Gordon Levitt on the screen it would be hilarious.
Flash Thompson: Kellan Lutz
The star of the
Twilight films, many of you think he can’t act but me? I think he’s good enough, with Flash it was hard to find someone who could easily be placed in College without looking to old, and someone who is bigger than Gordon-Levitt so we still had the whole Peter/Flash thing going on which is still in the book.
Kraven The Hunter: Javier Bardem
Javier, Javier, Javier. The dude is awesome, he kicks all kinds of ass in
Skyfall and can easily pull off a bad guy. I’m so sick of seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Josh Brolin cast as Kraven, so I cast Javier. Originally my pick for a younger Doctor Octopus, I now feel he would best suit Kraven as oppose a smart scientist, not saying he isn’t smart, but his accent is perfect for Kraven.
Dr Curtis Connors/The Lizard: Bruce Greenwood
Now I tried to stay as original as I could, but Bruce Greenwood is perfect for the middle aged Dr Connors, we had the young Connors in
TASM and in this series I would love to have a middle aged Connors, one with a family. Bruce looks like the nicest guy in the world, which is what Connors is in the comics, with The Lizard you need someone who doesn’t look like he could hurt anyone, that’s the whole magic of The Lizard, plus I can see Bruce giving Peter some great tips like he did with Kirk in
Star Trek.
Aunt May: Debbie Reynolds
This was a hard part to cast, not only is Aunt May hard to cast and be slightly original, but it’s very hard to cast an older Aunt May. But Debbie Reynolds has convinced me that an older Aunt May is not impossible to find, but you just have to keep looking and you’ll find it.
Captain George Stacy: John Slattery
The
Mad Men star would play a awesome Captain Stacy, I think he would be able to nail the 616 Stacy as oppose to Dennis Leary’s Ultimate Captain Stacy, his role in the film would be to track down a mysterious Lizard creature and Spider-Man would get thrown into the mix as would the greatest hunter in the world.. Kraven.
Norman Osborn: Andrew Lincoln
Ben Grimes himself, Andrew Lincoln has proven himself as a star in Hollywood, and I honestly wish
TASM 2 casted him, but now it's my turn. I feel Andrew would nail the role of Norman Osborn, he has the skull shaped head already, he can easily look older with some make up and what not and he can also play scary and weird. I see Norman
J.Jonah Jameson: Nick Offerman
Many of you may know him as Ron F’n Swanson, I think he would be perfect for Jameson, he can easily pull off the funny man as seen in
Parks & Recreation. Nick would be a great Jameson, he has the voice, the look and the character down. Mustache and tell me you don’t see Jameson.
Robbie Robertson: Ernie Hudson
I like Ernie, he always plays nice guys, and I think that’s needed for Robbie, Robbie in this film would be working for the Daily Bugle (duh) and would help Peter out whenever Jameson brings him down, I think it would be a nice father-son relationship.
Martha Connors: Jennifer Connelly
Casting Martha was very hard, because I wanted to find someone who I can see in the role and someone who can pull off the scientist role that Martha plays in the comics, Jennifer is 42, making her only 10 years younger than Bruce which I think would be a good age gap between Martha and Curtis.
Billy Connors: Mason Cook
I honestly don’t know much about this kid, and it would be weird if i did. So I googled best actors under 15. This kid popped up, boom Billy Connors?
Mary Jane Watson: Leighton Meester (Cameo)
I love Leighton Meester, I think she is just awesome in everything, she’s so damn hot. I could easily see her being a model like MJ and she would pull off the hotness that a character like MJ needs, so why not? this role would be a cameo (You just hit the jackpot) then in Part 2 she would have a much bigger role in the film.
So thanks for reading guys! If you like what you see here and you want to see more, hit the thumbs up! Thanks again!
