I am a fan of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Knights of the Old Republic 2 was good in some levels but suffered from looking incomplete. If it wasn't Knights of the Old Republic, their would have been no hope for the Star Wars universe after the Prequels came out.
Luckily fans of Star Wars managed to believe in the Star Wars Universe once again knowing their is hope for it.
If any do not know what KOTOR is the game was made by Canada's very own BIOWARE made in 2003 and published by Lucasarts to try to explore more of the Star Wars Universe and to expand as well.
The story is set Four Thousand years prior to the Star Wars films, Darth Malak, Darth Revan's apprentice and closest friend unleashed a Sith armada against the Republic. Many Jedi scattered and left venerable by Malak's agression, die in battle whislt others swear loyalty and allegiance to Malak.
The game opens with a character (male since it's canon) whom awakens aboard a Republic ship Endar Spire under attack by Malak's forces.
The character gradually gathers companions and starts to piece together his past while attempting to stop Malak.
While taking refuge at the Jedi Academy on Dantooine, the player's character learns to be a Jedi, discovers a "Star Map", and learns of the "Star Forge", the probable source of Malak's military resources.
The character and his companions search planets across the galaxy—Dantooine, Manaan, Tatooine, Kashyyyk, and Korriban—for more information about the Star Forge. Through the course of his travels the character slowly starts to regain his memories and finally discovers his true identity as he was a brainwashed Darth Revan. Whom the Jedi Council on Dantooine took in and subjected to memory modification so that he would no longer be a threat to the galaxy. Darth Revan had been injured when attacking a republic planet because Darth Malak turned his guns on his former master.
If not of companion Bastila Shan was aboard Revan's ship with a Jedi strike force, she was able to heal him and bring him to the Jedi Council on Dantooine. Her actions lead to the force bond between her and Revan, which plays a role in the games (IF canon the 2 fall in love).
Eventually Bastila Shan was captured by Malak and was tortured which not long later Malak turned her into the Dark Side. With Bastila on his side he decided to unleash his whole army towards the Republic.
Upon the Star Forge, Revan got Bastila to return to The Jedi way by helping him defeat his closest friend now enemy Darth Malak. After Revan defeated Malak he was honored as a savior and hero while others thought differently as what he did when he was Darth Revan are still unforgivable.
IF the game was made into a film well should be 2 films to cover it all maybe I do not know.
Since Warners Brothers is helping Lucasfilms with the current Star Wars the Clone Wars series I think WB and Lucasfilms NEED to make a Live Action Star Wars well it will be WB's first live action Star Wars if made. But if you all "Well George Lucas only the rights to make other Star Wars film" just remember 2 weeks ago where he announced he is retiring making big budget films meaning their is still hope for another Star Wars films.
Since this is a fancast for Knights of the Old Republic I will start on whom should turn the game into a film.
I got 2 choices on who to make it happen and can keep it true to it's plot and both of them directed films about comic book characters or on them.
Director for Knights of the Old Republic
A. Joss Whedon
B. Kenneth Branagh
Reson of Whedon- The reason Joss Whedon should direct a Knights of the Old Republic movie is because he is a good director and writer. I grew up watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer with my older cousin till it ended, ANGEL was also great, loved FIREFLY. Joss is also good on his CGI if you haven't watch FIREFLY.
Since he did a great job on The AVENGERS, I believe Joss Whedon can make an AWESOME KOTOR film.
Besides he is a fan favorite to reboot Star Wars anyways.
Reason of Branagh- The reason Kenneth Branagh should make Knights of the Old Republic into a film is because he is a good actor and good director saw Henry V it was good, Much Ado about Nothing was alright, his version of Hamlet was also good.
Branagh directed THOR which some Comic Book fans thought it can NEVER be done right but HE (Branagh) proved them wrong and got it right. The CGI on there was GREAT on the film which NEEDS to be on Knights of the Old Republic film so why not have him direct it and makes sure their is good dialouge on his films for example on THOR the characters of Asgard sound or speak how they do in the comics but toned down so it won't sound to funny.
For me it doesn't matter who directs the film but as long George Lucas STAYS THE F AWAY from KOTOR.
Time for the cast, I will start with the hero Revan and his Companions
Jared Padalecki as Revan
Reason- The reason I chose Jared is because he is a great actor and he actually auditioned for Anakin Skywalker on Episode 2, but George Lucas thought Jared was "too tall" for the role. If you haven't seen him act WATCH SUPERNATURAL, he is great on the show and if you seen Season 6 of the show then you know he can play Revan.
So if Lucasfilms and WB are going to make Knights of the Old Republic get Jared Padalecki for Revan.
Other choices- Henry Cavill, Johnathan Rys Meyers, Jensen Ackles.
Jaimie Alexander as Bastila Shan
Reason- If you seen her on THOR then you know why I cast her as Bastila Shan. If not then watch THOR, mostly the main reason I chose Jaimie Alexander for Bastila Shan is because she is a good actress even though I only saw her on THOR.
Jaimie Alexander suit the role of Bastila Shan especially when she(Bastila) fights in the games. Just imagine the opening act of Knights of the Old Republic where Bastila Shan tries to arrest Revan and the 2 clash before Darth Malak tried to destroy his master and friend.
If Lucasfilms and WB going to make a KOTOR film get Jaimie Alexander for Bastila Shan.
Other choices- None
Neil Patrick Harris as HK-47 (voice)
Reason- I have been watching How I Met Your Mother since it's first episode and I noticed Neil Patrick Harris makes numerous Star Wars quotes or references throughout the show. NPH is familar with voice acting as he voiced Spider-Man, The Flash, Nightwing in Comic book animated movies, tv shows or videogames.
If anybody else besides the original voice actor of HL-47 should voice the badass droid it should be NPH because he has the talent and humor to match the droid's personality. Besides who doesn't want to hear NPH sound like an assassin droid saying "Freeze meatbag".
Other choices- Ryan Reynolds, Nolan North
Adam Baldwin as Canderous Ordo/Mandalore
Reason- Adam is a fan favorite for the role and he is good friends with Joss Whedon since they worked together on FIREFLY and Serenity. Adam is perfect for the role of Canderous Ordo watch CHUCK, FIREFLY then you know why I cast him.
IF Joss Whedon is attached to this film then Adam won't be far along.
Other choices- NONE
Nathan Fillion as Carth Onasi
Reason- Nathan is good friends with Joss Whedon and appeared in most of Joss Whedon films or tv series such as FIREFLY, Serenity and Dr. Horribles Sing-Along Blog.
Nathan is a fan favorite to appear in the Star Wars Universe and if Lucasfilms remade or rebooted the Original Triology back in the 90's or early 2000's Fillion could have been Han Solo. Since Nathan is in his 40's he can still play the role of Carth Onsai if he loses a few pounds.
IF Joss Whedon is attacthed to a KOTOR just like Adam Baldwin, Fillion won't be far along.
Jennifer Lawrence as Mission Vao
Reason- Jennifer Lawrence is good actress she was good on X-MEN First Class which is the reason I cast her as Mission Vao. I originally wanted Hayden Panniteirre but too short for the role and too many poeple cast her already, I know Jennifer Lawrence can play this role with ease if she was given a good script.
If Lucasfilms and WB make a KOTOR film get Jennifer Lawrence as Mission Vao.
Other choices- Hayden Panniteirre but is too short
Brian Steele as Zaalbar
Reason- Doug Jones has been picked too much for a role of a Wookie in fanfics and Brian Steele is TALL he is 6ft 7 while Doug Jones is 6ft 3. Despite the minor height differences Steele is best known for playing on Underworld 1-2 as Werwrolves or Lycans in the films and played most of the Lycans on there.
He played Willaim the first Lycan on the 2nd film and played on Hellboy 1-2 as tall monsters Hellboy and the others fight.
The dude is tall enough to be a Wookie and they CGI Brian Steele to appear taller then Jared Padalecki since Jared and Doug Jones are the same height.
Other choices- Derek Meers, Doug Jones
Eva Green as Juhani
Reason- Eva Green is a great actress she was great on Casino Royale and CAMELOT too bad it ended so soon. I cast Eva Green to play Morrigan on my Dragon Age Origins fancast which is character from another BIOWARE game. IF the character is dark Eva can pull it off and Eva has the look to play a villain or troubled character.
To be honest I NEVER liked the character Juhani on the game but had to cast a good actress to make sure she is potrayed better and to have a darker personality.
Other choies- NONE
Avery Brooks as Jolee Bindo
Reason- Brooks was awesome in an 80's series called Spencer for Hire, in which he kicked arse! I know he can pull off Bindo and his "tired old man" aspect as well. If he was given a good script he can do a great job as Jolee Bindo.
Other choies- NONE
NOW for the Villains
Tom Hiddleston as Darth Malak
Reason- Tom was FN AWESOME on THOR and how he potrayed Loki, I knew right away I got Darth Malak. I know Tom doesn't have the physical part to be Darth Malak but they change the character a bit to make him be a bit of the Loki type Sith. My point is Tom can play the role of Darth Malak because he sure can play a badass villain.
If Kenneth Branagh is invovled of a Knights of the Old Republic film, Tom will be in it if it has a good script.
Other choices- Arnold Vosloo but is too old.
Josh Brolin as Calo Nord
Reason- Josh Brolin was FN AWESOME on No Country for Old Men and on True Grit. From how he played those characters he potrayed I know right away.
If anyone should be cast to play Calo Nord on the big screen it should be Josh Brolin.
Other choies- Ray Stevenson, Thomas Jane.
Ben Foster as Darth Bandon
Reason- Ben Foster has portrayed villains before and I think that, even if the time is limited, Foster can bring about a good, if not awesome, Darth Bandon.
Other choies- NONE
Jason Issacs as Saul Karath
Reason- Jason Issacs, like many actors, have always been on the CBM radar because of his portrayal of villains his performance as Colonel William Tavington in The Patriot that made me think Jason can be an awesome Saul Karath
Of course, he'll need make-up to make himself look older than Fillion besides that, Issacs is perfect for Karath.
THAT'S ALL FOLKS !!
My next article will be my Project which will be out next week, after that is an ALL OUT Game of Thrones Star Wars Fancast. I will use almost EVERY cast member in GoT into a Star Wars Fancast.
