Synopsis:
Ten years after he has started crime-fighting, Wally West, the former Kid Flash, has given up the identity after the death of his uncle Barry Allen, the Flash. However, when Zoom, Barry’s murderer, returns, Wally must team up with Jay Garrick, the original Flash, to stop this time-traveling madman and accept his destiny as the Fastest Man Alive!
My director is Brad Bird(The Incredibles)
Even though he hasn’t made a single live-action movie before his upcoming “Mission: Impossible IV”, he’s proven that he can make a serious and comedic superhero movie. The Flash isn’t as serious as the other movies anyways.
Now for the cast.
Scott Porter(Friday Night Lights) as Wally West/the Flash
Porter has been rumored for both the roles of Barry Allen and Wally West. I personally think he better suit’s the latter, though. Despite being in his thirties, Porter can still pass for early twenties, like a Tom Welling who can actually act. Porter has also been shown to be able to play serious and comedic. At 6’1”, he’s the perfect height, too.
Kristin Kreuk(Smallville) as Linda Park
Kreuk, while not the greatest of actresses, is one of the better ones on
Smallville. She looks a little like the comic book version and has played a superhero love interest before(if I have to tell you where, that’s just sad).
Bruce Greenwood(Star Trek) as Jay Garrick
Greenwood looks so much like the comic book Garrick that I wouldn’t be surprised if Alex Ross actually admitted that he bases his work on him. Greenwood has already played a mentor-like role in
Star Trek and has played a superhero before(Batman in
Young Justice and
Under. The Red Hood.
John Wesley Shipp(The Flash) as Eobard Thwane/Zoom
Shipp is no stranger to the world of the Scarlet Speedster. Known to many(fans and others alike) as being to the Flash what Keaton was to Batman, he has also lent his voice to Zoom in the TV series,
Batman: The Brave and the Bold. In the
Flash series, he had also played a “Bizarro Flash”(as in, a clone who isn’t exactly
evil, but still hinders process) in one of the episodes(forgot the name of it. It‘s a good episode, though). I considered him for the role of Jay Garrick too, but Greenwood is much better suited to that role.
Michael Weatherly(N:CIS) as Barry Allen/Flash
Weatherly is a great actor that can play both serious and comedic. I love watching
N:CIS and his character of Tony DiNozza reminds me of a Barry Allen without powers. He’s even a police, like Barry.
Dan Benson(Wizards of Waverly Place) as young Wally West/Kid Flash
Not the greatest young actor, but he looks like Scott Porter and would probably bring in a lot of Disney fans.
Mark Wahlberg(The Fighter) as young(er) as Eobard Thwane/Zoom
Unlike what most people think, I think Wahlberg is a good actor, at least for action. He also reminds me of a younger Shipp for some reason.
Josh Hartnett(Pearl Harbor) as Hunter Zolomon
Hartnett is a great actor that has previously been rumored for Superman multiple times before Routh and Cavill were cast. Playing Hunter Zolomon/future Zoom II(in the sequel) would finally get him into DC Comics movies.
