The Sinister Six Fancast

The Sinister Six Fancast

So, for the most part, I have been casting characters from the DC Universe. So now, it's time to switch it up. For this article, I will be casting the villains for a film that I am looking forward in the future that Sony announced not to long ago: THE SINISTER SIX!

For those of you who hardly use the internet or unaware of this story, allow me to remind you. A few months back, Sony announced that after doing The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4, they would be working on a Venom movie directed by Alex Kurtzman, but more importantly, a Sinister Six movie directed by Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods). After when Doctor Octopus escaped from prison, he swore revenge against Spider-Man. Doing so, he formed a team of super villains to challenge him. The villains were The Vulture, Sandman, Electro, Mysterio, and Kraven the Hunter. They Captured Betty Brant from the Daily Bugle, and Aunt May. They agreed to attack him one at a time so that he could get tired after each enemy he fought. Kind of like when Batman fought Bane for the first time after taking on a lot of crime in Gotham. There have been many different members to come and go in the comics and the cartoons, including Hobgoblin, Chameleon, Rhino, Scorpion, Shocker, Beetle, etc. But I will mainly be focusing on the original six. Now keep in mind, I will also be casting the hero and supporting characters before I start with the villains. Plus, I believe that The Sinister Six is so far a working title. So with all that said, lets cast a film I'd like to call THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SINISTER SIX!

Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, The Amazing Spider-Man Franchise) as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man

Let's face it, Andrew Garfield was born to play Spider-Man. I mean, who else are the Sinister Six going to fight? There might be a chance that they might fight the Green Goblin and the Sinister Twelve, but let's be honest, what we really want is to see is Spidey go toe to toe with six of his greatest enemies.

Sally Field (Mrs. Doubtfire, Forrest Gump, Lincoln, The Amazing Spider-Man Franchise) as Aunt May

Like Andrew Garfield, Sally is already in the cast, so there's no point in recasting her, plus she's the one that Ock captures, so it somewhat makes sense for her to be in the film in a way.

Alanna Blair as Mary Jane Watson

Alanna is casted in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as "Girl saved by Spider-Man", and I have a theory that girl is MJ. This is just me putting two and two together, but this is what I think might happen at the end of the movie (I don't know if this will happen, but this is just me, so just incase SPOILERS!!!) After if Gwen dies, Peter is in a coffee shop feeling down. The waitress who was bringing him his coffee and she see's him as a regular. She says some touching words and hand him a piece of paper and walks away. Peter looks down at the paper and it says MJ with her number, going to show Peter that there still is some happiness can happen to him. I don't know if that will happen, but that is my theory.

Zooey Deschanel (Elf, (500) Days of Summer, New Girl) as Betty Brant

Some of my other choices were Rashida Jones and Olivia Munn, but I believe Zooey would nail the part. I keep seeing her name on other Spider-Man fancasts and they are right. Plus it would be great to see a Marc Webb alumni in a Spider-Man film.

John C. McGinley (Platoon, Se7en, Scrubs) as J. Jonah Jameson

Just imagine Dr. Cox working for a newspaper company, and you have yourself a perfect Jameson. While J.K. Simmons might be the best comic book casting ever and being the best casting choice in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies, I doubt that he'll return. And McGinley would have been my other choice cause he fits the personality perfectly.

Alright, enough of the supporting roles. Let's cast the characters that you've all been waiting for. I give you THE SINISTER SIX!

David Morrissey (The Walking Dead) as Otto Octavius aka Doctor Octopus

In my own opinion, David Morrissey would be the perfect Doc Ock. No disrespect to Alfred Molina, but if they were to recast the character, this would be my first choice. His character from The Walking Dead is a complete sociopath, he is subtle but over the top at the same time, he's smart, he's cunning, he has leadership skills, you can't reason with him, and he will keep on murdering people until he is in charge or if everyone is just about as evil as he is. If that doesn't sound like Doc Ock, then I don't know what does. Plus, Morrissey and Andrew Garfield have worked with each other in the past, so it would be nice to see these two reunited again.

Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad) as Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture

Jonathan is one of those actors who looks like he's been through hell and back. When I first saw him for the first time ever on Breaking Bad, I thought to myself "That guy has to play the Vulture", and I still stand by my word when I say that. Perfect look, perfect attitude, perfect everything. My second choice was Bruce Dern, but I think Banks would own this role and make it his own.

Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Wolf of Wall Street) as Flint Marko aka Sandman

Another Walking Dead alumni, this one was probably the hardest casting to do. I could have gone with someone like Kevin Durand or Aaron Eckhart, but those have been done way too many times. Bernthal's character on The Walking Dead seemed like someone who has morals, but in the end, throws them all away. The two members of The Sinister Six I feel like have morals are Sandman and Kraven. We know that Flint has a family, but Ock forces him to return to the team at one point, and if he didn't, Ock would kill his family. The only other comic book character I can see Bernthal playing is Deadshot. But we'll see how things play out.

Jamie Foxx (Ray, Django Unchained, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) as Max Dillon aka Electro

He's already playing the character, so I feel no need to recast him. Plus, I think that it's no surprise that he will be in The Sinister Six film cause he is a key member, and that way, he can get more character development out of the way. I'm really excited to see what he has to bring to the big screen, cause so far, he hasn't disappointed me.

Rainn Wilson (The Office, Juno, Super) as Quentin Beck aka Mysterio

A lot of people know Rainn as Dwight from The Office, but some forget that he can play a convincing dramatic character like he was in Hesher. I can see him playing a villain, and I can envision him in his room, tinkering with some pieces to make a costume. Plus I think that Quentin Beck needs to look average looking like Rainn does.

Colin Farrell (Minority Report, Phone Booth, In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths) as Sergei Kravinoff aka Kraven the Hunter

I feel like Gerard Butler is way overused, along with Ian McShane. While I think these actors would do a great job, I felt like choosing an actor that no one has thought of yet. Farrell has the presence to bring a character like that to the big screen. He may be known for playing action heroes for the most part, you have to admit it, even if you don't want to, that he stole the show as Bullseye in the Daredevil movie. And that's another thing, he is known for being in a comic book movie, so that's a plus. Overall, I want this guy to have a second chance in being in something good.

But that is all for today. Let me know if there is a member you want me to cast or if there is a character in the Spider-Man universe that you want me to cast. Also, let me know who YOU would cast as The Sinister Six, and what members you would use for the film.

Banks would be cool, but doesn't fit Vulture, love the Doc Ock and Sandman picks though (and I hate THE WALKING DEAD).

Cox would make a great JJ. Also, I think this movie will fall between TASM3 and TASM4. Apparently they're trying to do a Spidey movie a year and since nothing is slated to release in 2015, it's safe to say TASM3 will happen prior to the Sinister Six. I'm hoping it plays out like this:

TASM2, we're introduced to Rhino and Electro and Oscorps projects. Norman gets Harry to take the serum and maybe it isn't stable. He dies.

TASM3, Normans out for revenge and in the first act, he kills Gwen. We get a mourning Spiderman and the symbiote binds to him. He battles Goblin and overpowers him.

Sinister Six, the enemies unite against Symbiote Spiderman. He beats them down easily the first go round. He gets rid of the symbiote and the team tries to take him down again and there's a huge battle but he manages to win.

TASM4, Spidey vs Venom

Venom, Venom vs Carnage. No Spidey

@GizmoEl, that actually makes a lot of sense. I actually plan on doing a fancast for Venom soon.
