The black symbiotic suit is being passed around like acid at a Pink Floyd concert. This graphic novel tells a story in four chapters, each starring a different host for the alien suit. First up, Black Panther is visiting New York in search of a terrorist group responsible for a recent massacre in Africa. While in the city, the alien suit bonds with Panther, driving him mad as he goes about his investigation. With Spider-Man’s assistance, Black Panther frees himself of the suit and brings the terrorists to justice. The alien suit next makes its way to a more violent host: Frank Castle. The Punisher stumbles upon the suit during a raid on a Cuban drug ring. The suit causes Castle to abandon his mission and instead influences him to many times try to kill himself (this being Castle’s true goal at heart). Castle eventually frees himself and the suit moves on. The suit’s next host is angry, gothic teenager Mark Wilder. Wilder is constantly teased and, with the help of the suit, finally bestows his revenge on his oppressors. It is Dare Devil that brings an end to Wilder’s reign of terror as Venom, convincing Wilder to see the error of his ways. The suit next moves on to its most dangerous host ever: Bruce Banner. Constantly on the lam from the military, Banner finds himself hiding in New York. While walking back to his hotel from a diner, Banner is ambushed by the suit. The suit’s ability to bring out the worst in people takes effect almost immediately, unleashing the most powerful, angry Venom to ever terrorize New York. It takes a full on assault from the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and Iron Man that destroys a large of chunk of the city to separate the suit from the Hulk. The suit is then captured by Reed Richards and placed in an air tight chamber.
