J. K. Simmons Teases Possible Return As J. Jonah Jameson In Future SPIDER-MAN Movies

J. K. Simmons was easily the highlight of Raimi's original Spider-Man trilogy in the eyes of many - and many have been clamouring for him to return to the role. Well, it appears that it could be more likely than we thought! Hit the jump to hear his comments...

Marc Webb's recent The Amazing Spider-Man movies didn't feature the loud and brash Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah. Jameson, and perhaps wisely - many would argue they'd struggle to top J. K. Simmons in the role. Well, it appears that whoever's currently developing the Spider-Man franchise realizes that too.

Whilst talking about his role as J. Jonah Jameson in the original Sam Raimi directed Spider-Man trilogy on the Howard Stern Show, Simmons may have let something slip - when asked if he was doing another Spider-Man movie, Simmons stated “I just heard that we… that that’s a possibility!” A possibility? Simmons went on to reaffirm that he would "absolutely" reprise the role if asked. While this could just be a misinterpretation - is it possible that either Marvel or Sony is pursuing the actor to reprise the JJJ role in a future Spider-Man movie?

Now of course, this is hardly confirmation that Simmons will reprise the role in the future - we don't even know who's working on the Spider-Man franchise right now, let alone who'll be in it! But regardless, it's great to hear the actor is still just as enthusiastic about the role. Do you want to see Simmons back as JJJ? Be sure to let us know below!

Someone really should do a mashup of JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson and his character in Whiplash

TASM 2...
Oh and the new ones havent grossed as much as the old franchise(in the age of billion dollar movies, that's sad)

So yes, I'd like to join the many fans out there who say
KILL THIS FRANCHISE WITH FIRE. MCU

Like I would rather see Raimi and Toby come back for a 4th Spider-Man than see another Not-So-Amazing Spider-Man

Rant over
