If Marvel Studios can pull this off, then the cast of Fantastic Four will be among the best ensembles they’ve ever assembled for an MCU movie.
According to scooper Daniel Richtman, The Suicide Squad and Barbie star Margot Robbie has been offered the role of Sue Storm/Invisible Woman in Matt Shakman’s upcoming reboot. There’s nothing to say she’ll accept, of course, but trusted leaker @MyTimeToShineH has corroborated this report.
The actress, perhaps best known for playing Harley Quinn in the DCEU, would be a phenomenal addition to both this shared world and the relaunched Fantastic Four franchise.
The Academy Award nominee definitely has the talents to do Sue justice on screen, though we’ll be more than a little surprised if Robbie is willing to sign up for what would be a multi-year, multi-project commitment. This is a dream casting pick in many ways, though we can’t help but feel it’s too good to be true!
As things stand, Marvel Studios has made no official announcements about Fantastic Four's cast. However, if rumours are to be believed, the Fantastic Four cast currently consists of Adam Driver (Mister Fantastic), Margot Robbie (Invisible Woman), Paul Mescal (Human Torch), and Antonio Banderas (Galactus).
Needless to say, if Robbie accepts the role, we're guessing that will close the door on her reprising the role of The Joker's puddin' in DC Studios' new DCU.
A founding member of the Fantastic Four, Sue was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in 1961’s Fantastic Four #1
She is able to create invisible force fields of any shape she conceives and can turn herself, and anything she's in contact with, invisible. Sue is the wife of Reed Richards and the mother of their children, Franklin and Valeria. She’s also Johnny’s sister. On multiple occasions, it’s been established that Sue is the most powerful member of Marvel’s First Family.
Fantastic Four is set to be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
