All eyes are on Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot, particularly as the MCU debut of Marvel's First Family could change the very foundations of this shared world as we know it.
Many names have been rumoured for the movie's cast, but with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and director Matt Shakman said to have only just started searching for a suitable foursome, it might be a while before we hear anything official. There hasn't been this much excitement for casting news since the MCU was looking for its Spider-Man, though.
Among the names supposedly being considered for Sue Storm/Invisible Woman is Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan.
She's be a great pick, and during a recent interview with ET Online, the actress was asked about the rumours. "I haven't heard anything, unfortunately, but I'm here; it's our last season. I'm about to be available," she said, expressing clear interest in the role. "[Being a part of Fantastic Four] would be a blast."
We'd have no complaints if Brosnahan was chosen to play Sue, though other names said to be in contention include Jodie Comer, Vanessa Kirby, Lily James, Saoirse Ronan, Amanda Seyfried, and Phillips Soo. That's one impressive lineup of talent.
When it comes to the rest of the Fantastic Four, John Krasinski remains the top pick for Mister Fantastic among fans, though there have been rumblings it might be Penn Badgley or Jamie Dornan instead. Jason Segal's name keeps coming up where The Thing is concerned, while it's been all quiet on the Human Torch front outside of fan casts.
We're going to have to be patient as news about Fantastic Four's cast may not break this year. The script has only just started being written, so chances are no decisions will be made until Shakman gives some input into the story he wants to tell here.
Fantastic Four is set to be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.
