FANTASTIC FOUR: Rachel Brosnahan Responds To Sue Storm Rumors By Saying "[It] Would Be A Blast"

House of Cards and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan is among the names rumoured to be up for the role of Sue Storm in Fantastic Four, but what does the actress have to say about that?

All eyes are on Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot, particularly as the MCU debut of Marvel's First Family could change the very foundations of this shared world as we know it.

Many names have been rumoured for the movie's cast, but with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and director Matt Shakman said to have only just started searching for a suitable foursome, it might be a while before we hear anything official. There hasn't been this much excitement for casting news since the MCU was looking for its Spider-Man, though.

Among the names supposedly being considered for Sue Storm/Invisible Woman is Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan.

She's be a great pick, and during a recent interview with ET Online, the actress was asked about the rumours. "I haven't heard anything, unfortunately, but I'm here; it's our last season. I'm about to be available," she said, expressing clear interest in the role. "[Being a part of Fantastic Four] would be a blast."

We'd have no complaints if Brosnahan was chosen to play Sue, though other names said to be in contention include Jodie Comer, Vanessa Kirby, Lily James, Saoirse Ronan, Amanda Seyfried, and Phillips Soo. That's one impressive lineup of talent.

When it comes to the rest of the Fantastic Four, John Krasinski remains the top pick for Mister Fantastic among fans, though there have been rumblings it might be Penn Badgley or Jamie Dornan instead. Jason Segal's name keeps coming up where The Thing is concerned, while it's been all quiet on the Human Torch front outside of fan casts.

We're going to have to be patient as news about Fantastic Four's cast may not break this year. The script has only just started being written, so chances are no decisions will be made until Shakman gives some input into the story he wants to tell here.

Fantastic Four is set to be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.

Not a choice I’ve ever considered, but damn, she would be great. Watched all of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel some months back, and she kills it.

Yes she would be great. I only care about who they cast as Ben, Chiklis was a tough act to follow and Jamie bell failed (not his fault). I like the idea of Jason Segel maybe even Bill Hader he would have a killer voice

@Saga - After seeing someone suggested the other day, I want Hader as Reed. Although the movies weren’t great, Chiklis was perfect as Ben Grimm.

@TheSuperMex - she was an escort who was used as a pawn to destroy a congressman. Seduce him and get him drinking again

I just hope we find out before the end of the year.

It's such a huge commitment to play a notable Marvel character in the MCU. Especially for the top actors, who get work regularly. I'm kinda surprised that they haven't already cast and announced the new Fantastic Four. The sooner you get the actors locked in, the better.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - I'm sure they're working on it. They've been done dirty in the past and they really need to knock it out of the park.

A lot of times I like to suggest lesser known talent to take these roles and be made big stars. The first family though, they're an a-list team that deserves a list talent right off the bat. Maybe that commitment's what is keeping a listers from signing on for a long-term deal.

I'd rather than take the time to get it right.

Jason Segal as Ben Grimm hope that isn’t true. I can’t even see why I would have picked maybe Scott Eastwood or Liam Hemsworth.

I have to say, I kinda like Brosnahan better than pretty much all the names that've regularly been brought up so far.

I still wanna see Jessica Rothe as Sue, but I honestly don't mind whoever they pick. Rothe, Borsnahan or someone else, I trust Sarah Finn

Brosnahan was my standing Jean Grey for a long while. She's great, no question about it. Significantly more of a traditional Sue than Comer, I think (Comer has such a chaotic energy that doesn't scream Sue). But that chaotic energy means Comer could also carry the whole film on her own, especially as way to connect her with Ben, which is always the dynamic in the F4 that is sadly least defined.

Honestly, Marvel is going to need half a dozen charismatic white women in the 25-35 range in the next few years that people are going to try to fancast for a lot of the same roles. Brosnahan absolutely deserves to be on that list alongside Comer and Lilly James. If Comer did lock down Sue, I could see Brosnahan easily slotting in as Medusa and even being on the F4 herself (assuming Feige isn't tying himself down to the TV Inhumans cast).
