Josh Gad & Josh Trank Deny FANTASTIC FOUR Rumor
Yesterday, I and much of the internet almost had a meltdown, as the website Movies.com reported that Josh Gad, who voiced Olaf the snowman in Frozen, was being considered for the role of Ben Grimm/The Thing in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot.
Just a day ago, Movies.com made a very bold claim: "Josh Gad is Fox’s number one choice for the role of Ben Grimm." 3, 2, 1, internet meltdown commence! Come today, actor Josh Gad and Fantastic Four director Josh Trank ("Chronicle") have tweeted their denials regarding this new casting rumor. You can see both tweets below, and an update from Movies.com. Of note: the site is questioning the authenticity of the Josh Trank twitter account. Keep in mind, that same twitter account "debunked" Miles Teller's involvement, and we now know Teller is in the mix for Mr. Fantastic. So, make of that what you will.
Update: A person claiming to be Josh Trank has denied this rumor via Twitter. We stand by what was told to us, especially since additional sources have since come forward to confirm it, but it's a long casting process and we imagine various names are floating in and out of contention on a daily basis. - Movies.com
