Josh Trank Says We Know As Much As He Does About FANTASTIC FOUR

Josh Trank is doing rounds for his new movie coming out Chronicle, and he was asked about being linked to direct the reboot of Fantastic Four where he said people know just as much as he does about the project.

Superhero Hype caught up with Chronicle director Josh Trank while he was doing press for the film and asked him about the rumors floating around that he was the front runner for the new Fantastic Four reboot. Like in his previous interview Trank remained coy about the rumor saying that people know just as much as he does and that he did see the leak online. He also went on to state that he is focused on getting Chronicle finished up right now and reiterated that he has some original ideas that he is working on. Said Trank, "I know as much as you guys know. I'm totally serious. I know as much as you. I saw that leak online and I was like, 'Um, okay, I'm trying to finish Chronicle right now.' This is weird. There's nothing to say, 'Chronicle' is exactly the kind of superhero movie that I wanted to make and, going forward, I want to have some original ideas and different things I'm working on."

There has been no official announcement as of now which is probably why Tank is not talking too much about it. Trank also seems very much focused on making sure all the press goes directly to Chronicle instead of the Fantastic Four rumor. On the other hand he has given no indication that he is even going to take the project in the first place. What do you guys think, do you think he is just no answering because it hasn't been announced or do you think he is going to turn down the job? Leave your comments in the comment boxes below.

Seems to contradict what he said earlier this week. Said he's talked to FOX abt FF4 and an X-Men: First Class sequel

To be honest i think that Doug Liman would be an excellent pick for directors. HEy he's already worked with sci-fi in terms of jumper and he's work with sam jackson the nick fury so i think that there could be a possible mix there and possibly tie them into the MMU

I wish they could tie them in to the Marvel movies somehow but they won't unless they get the rights back. FF, XMEN & Spidey would make the universe complete, along with the Avengers, the movie crossover potential would be truly (this is the first time I've used this word in a comment) EPIC!!

Did Marvel sell the complete rights to these characters or is like a lease that will eventually expire?

Truthfully, I'm disappointed they decided to reboot FF4. I know they were no Iron Man or TDK but I felt they were sufficient (but, of course, the audience doesn't want 'sufficient'. They want spectacular. As do I). However, Silver Surfer was beautifully done. Beautifully. It really was a good cast. Michael Chiklis (spelling?) Was Sweet and actually did that voice. It was NOT electronic in any way. That's very credible. Chris Evans was an almost perfect Human Torch. The bachelor party scene in Rise of Silver Surfer was utterly ridiculous & unnecessary (sorry Tim Story, just being honest), but otherwise, Loved Dr Doom, Jessica Alba is, well, Gorgeous!!! And a good actress. Mr Fantastic was just, enough.
If they top the previous FF4's then Awesome!!! I'm all for it. But I'm really not sure they'll be able to. But, for their sake, I really hope they do.

Frankly I think Fox should have made an FF3 movie. They could have used the Skrulls, Have DR.Doom with a robot army or better yet shown Galactus. The last part what they should have done with FF2. They could have shown Galactus in the last movie but nooooooooooooooooo. Fox was so greedy that they wanted to make a Silver Surfer movie. Which BTW, they didn't even make.

If there was one comic book movie I'd like to produce, it would be DISNEY's FANTASTIC FOUR 3D.

My guess is this reboot features space battles, a younger cast like JJ Abrams' Star Trek, and a Ultimates Universe N-Zone origin (Negative Zone in 616). Does Fox own Annihilus? 'Cuz he was suppose to be in the 3rd Tim Story F4. I think him and Dr. Doom (definitely) in this reboot.

I want the rights back at Marvel. FF and FF2 were crap, couldn't stand that pansy ass Mcmahon or whatever as Doom. Not to mention Silver Surfer was in FF2 for about a whole 15 mins(he was bad ass in those 15 minutes though). Reboot needs to be a sci-fi epic like the comics no more "FF gossip on E!" BS.

Just cast Bruce Willis as The Thing and I'll be happy, regardless of who directs it or what company has it.

Marvel/Disney are not going to get the rights back to FF4, Spider-Man or the X-Men simply because Fox & Sony won't sell them or let them default. All three of these franchises are serious cash cows for those studios, despite the quality of the films, so there is no way in hell they would give them up and I'm almost guaranteeing that Marvel/Disney won't fork over the kind of money to out-right purchase them.

So don't hold you breath kids, it ain't going to happen.
