Magic, monsters, gods and madness reign throughout the palaces and pyramids of the Nile River Valley in this action-adventure inspired by the classic mythology of Egypt. With the survival of mankind hanging in the balance, an unexpected hero takes a thrilling journey to save the world and rescue his true love. Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. With only a handful of heroic rebels opposing Set’s savage rule, Bek (Brenton Thwaites), a bold and defiant mortal, enlists the aid of powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in an unlikely alliance against the evil overlord. As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen take them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the spectacular final confrontation.

Gods of Egypt opens February 26th.

Still looks like a fun popcorn action movie to me! Doesn't have to be an award winner to be a good time.

Ya know, it's not that I demand only Egyptians to play Egyptians, but rather, actors who can pass for the role via make-up and really good acting. For those reasons, Exodus: Gods and Kings seemed endlessly lame despite somewhat cool yet still surprisingly underwhelming visuals, and this movie here just takes the absurdity to a whole nuva levo'

The one thing I don't get about this movie is why white wash it? Because if you look at the ancient Egyptian painting and things like that you'll see they were olive skin color or black. Plus recorded history that has said what they looked like.

@ASGARDIANBRONY - Yes, let's have the whitest author we can find (who grew up in a time when Britain was full of racists) tell us how African gods are not black lool.

Ugh! i'm a fan of Proyas, but this looks atrocious... and not because of the ethnicity shit, etc.

well, by the other hand i'm glad that Proyas has given up of Paradise Lost... he would be destroyed a great story with this kind of approach.

Honestly, I'm usually a sucker for these type of films (big on CGI and visuals), and I really like the cast for this movie, but I will not excuse the whitewashing. If Hollywood wants to cash in the gods of egypt mythology, then do it respectfully. I will watch this at home when available because I am also trash that enjoys movies.
