okay, there's a full body shot of him. no one can convince me that he looks as big as he should. he still looks too skinny to be Conan.

i still hope its good though.

I love what I'm seeing from this film. No, he's not Arnold huge but he's a pretty damn big ol boy.

Matter of fact, he looks like he has an almost identical build to Hemsworth, who everybody is saying looks great as Thor. Take out the weight differential due to his body's density and Thor and Conan have always been depicted as being right around the same damn size.

If your not happy with one, you shouldn't be happy with the other. ;P

@ hawksblueyes

oh i disagree, man. look at fanboii's pic he posted, Thor has never been depicted as being that big.

and remember, even though i think he's a little too small, i also understand that if you go with a professional body-builder as the star, then you get what you pay for in the acting department. so this isn't exactly putting me off the movie. i love Conan and really do hope this movie is good. :)

I've always seen Conan as a fast and agile warrior rather than someone who is simply stronger than his opponents. I can't help but feel that complaints against his size are basically saying "not as big as Schwarzenegger". Anyone who saw Momoa in Stargate Atlantis knows that he is a good combination of size (he's really frickin tall), strength (he's bulked up but not to steroid levels) and speed and agility (he had this move in SGA which was a kind of a stab combined with jump to give his sword blow more power). What's more, the extras in SGA made it clear he had very little martial arts or sword training before he got the job yet managed to do a lot of fight scenes on what was a comparitively low budget and make them look good.

Ironically, in the show once his character - Ronan Dex - was jokingly referred to as Conan.

Bobsuncorp@ That's true! lol
He was mistakenly referred to as
Conan for "RONAN" on Startgate:
Atlantis! That was quite funny
in the Stargate show.

CDB@ Skinny...lol... Again..please tell me where he looks different in build and size than this, which is consistent with the internal black and white illustrations in Howard's books:

Aye, well i dont really know who this guy is.
I dabbled in SG1 but not really much more than that.
I think he looks fine body wise, but agree he does look pretty Prince of Persia. Could do with a haircut.
Im really looking forward to it though.

I played 'Age of Conan' and got pretty excited by it but it fell apart as soon as you left the startup area.

The history of the Hyborea is really deep, Robert E Howard wrote a lot and Conan needs to be on our screens for a good wee while i reckon.
I would love to see Conan go on for years like 'Bond' and get right into the King Conan stuff.

I really was looking forward to that Red Sonja film that never materialised. Is McGowan going to be her in this film?
