Looks freaking brutal.

Harry and the Hendersons was amazing, both the movie and the show.Any similarities to it's awesomeness can only be a good thing.

lol Is that Ron Pearlman's character giving that bored, dry, description about Conan? I don't know what accent they SHOULD have, but I'm sure it should sound less like.... dudes.

And who wrote the dialog? yikes! It's just as cliche and predictable as Anime dialog. Follow you into hell? lol

@NeoBaggins, the work of REH have plenty of those quotations! What do you want? Some shakespearean dialogs to f.ucking Conan? C'mon, gimme a break...

@ EvilOlivE:

Mm...leave Game of Thrones out of it. The cinematography was actually pretty good for a tv show, and has no bearing on Momoa's acting in this remake.

The choice of director IS troubling, as is the overblown look of the thing. But seriously, let's all agree to stop ragging on bloody Momoa. He's bronzed, he's buff. A man in the middle ages doesn't have access to the diet and regular iron pumping necessary to turn into Arnold, so Momoa looks fine to me. His hair is dark. Oh, but his eyes aren't blue? Yeah...don't care. No one cares. Howard himself would probably laugh his ass off at the idea that it mattered.

This film may fail, but I guarantee it won't be because Momoa LOOKS insufficiently like Conan as described on page 4 of Red Nails or whatever. It will come down to his acting, or more likely the director's influence.

Arnold's Conan was a little less removed from the original than was Halle Berry's Catwoman.

" His acting in Game of Thrones is just as slow and lumbering as Arnold, if not worse, thanks to the sh*t cinematography."

I stopped reading there.

This looks...ok. It could be great, or it could be awful. Don't like the accents at all.

Arnold is a douche bag but he was the PERFECT Conan. Sorry. There's no real argument there. I wish Conan had an accent in this. It just seems like he should to me and without it I feel like something is wrong. The scene of him as a child hoisting the sword up and yelling looks bad. Hopefully they don't change how he was a slave and pit fighter. One thing i'm afraid of is that they might try to mix a littlle "Jack Sparrow" into Conan. That would be a NO NO. They should have used the original score by Basil Poledouris. That to me was what made Conan the Barbarian such an epic motion picture. But keep in mind that I never read the works of REH and read Savage Sword of Conan every now and then. CTB is one of my top 3 all time favorite movies right next to the Birdcage... so I base my opinion off that. lol

@superpooper: Conan in the REH Canon was NEVER a slave or pit fighter and he actually talked unlike in the Arnold film lol.

@sweetre15 Oh...well, I guess you should just take my opinion with a grain of salt then. CTB is an awesome film though...imo.

@Superpooper: Yeah it was a good standalone film just not a good CONAN film.

Arnold´s film is always going to be a classic and great film! Nothing can change that!
But this film looks alot more like the Conan i know and love from comics and books. Momoa (Even his eyes are not blue! Which i agree that they should be!) has lots of Buscema´s, Windsor-Smith´s and Frazetta´s Conan in him and thats enough for me.
Visually they nailed it. Acting and directing are still question in my book but im hoping the best from that area too.

Only thing that makes me angry is that this film doesnt have any other known characters from comics and books except Conan himself. I would have liked to see Conan fall in love with Belit. Become friends with Zula and fighting against his so called "main enemy" Thoth-Amon.
But those can come in in the sequels if the first one makes enough money.

OneEyedWillie, Because I pointed out bad dialog and standard dude accents, I want Shakespear? Are you reading from 'Excuses for bad movies 101'? Someone recently told me that Green Lantern wasn't supposed to be the Godfather. You guys need to form actual arguments if you want to be taken seriously.

Still love the name. OneEyedWillie. That's good shit right there.

@NeoBaggins: And who wrote the dialog? yikes! It's just as cliche and predictable as Anime dialog. Follow you into hell? lol

In this trailer it appears as: "I'm the man who will follow you to hell."

But the previous trailers show that this is really two scenes/lines spliced together. In its original context, it goes: "Run from me, and I'll tear apart the mountains to find you. I will follow you to hell!"

And who wrote that? Conan's creator Robert E. Howard, in 1932. 100% pure Conan, man. (It's even missing "I'll pile the heads of your kinsmen at your feet!")

It's the rest of the dialogue that gives me pause.
