Promising a realistic take on the iconic legendary character, Brett Ratner's take on the Hercules: The Thracian Wars graphic novel is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2014. With a cast which includes the likes of Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal and John Hurt, it certainly seems to have all the right ingredients to be a great summer blockbuster. However, it's leading man Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who is building hype for the movie with a series of production photos released via his Twitter account. Here's the latest...

Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend. Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.

When we at last gets to see his face they must do something funny. A false nose or something. A masque with young Arnold Schwarzenegger ..

I think the movie will be good, but I was hoping for more of a mythical story.

Isn't it spelt Heracles?

@Dmon - Well using the English accent is simply the done thing. I agree that from a completely objective point of view it makes no more sense than the American, but it does sound better when being thrust into ancient times...and at least England EXISTED then.

@ JoeMomma29

It's probably going to be like the comic it's based on and less like the Mythology that inspired the comic.

@ JorEllinator

Heracles is Greek spelling and Hercules is Roman spelling.

@ NPaMusic because he'll have a mustache and a beard, nothing else. I'm a stuntman in this movie, and we wrapped nearly all of the scenes now. It's going to be a nice action flick imho.

When you're as jacked as he is, you show off your guns pretty much all the time no matter what you're wearing.
