Wow 2 of the 3 characters are not even in the book... for the record I have no problem with Legolas being in the movie because he was there, but I hate when Jackson adds the's pointless characters like the she-elf or minor characters get way too much screen time.

The films need the human-sized characters—even if they were not in the book. I think part of the problem people had with the first film was that there was no one they could relate too.

yeah! nothing quite like over-hyping characters that weren't even in the [frick]ing book.

They only added Evangeline for the sake of having a female character. If I recall, it has been a while since I've read The Hobbit, there isn't a single female that shows up throughout the entire book, except for maybe some nameless background elves in Rivendell or Mirkwood.

Yeah... i'm perfectly happy without the addition of needless "human-sized characters" to "relate" to. The journey that Bilbo and the dwarves are on, the struggles they face and the victories they achieve are plenty human enough for me to identify with. Thorin Oakenshield especially.

Sick of waiting 1 year between films??? Poor thing. At least you don't have to wait 3 years between films! Just wait for Star Wars Episode VII to end...
