Max Landis is writing a screenplay based on the classic monster tale for 20th Century Fox. Davis Entertainment is attached to produce the untitled pic, which Fox will distribute.

Ron Howard had been circling the project, but it appears he's out, given that The Dark Tower is still up in the air and that he's in early talks for Formula 1 biopic Rush.

Frankenstein movies in the works at the moment, so we'll see what are studios plans for this project.
