GODS OF EGYPT Casts Its Lead
Up-and-coming 24 year old Brenton Thwaites will join Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Geoffrey Rush in Alex Proyas' fantasy adventure flick as the human thief, 'Bek', who joins Horus in his mission to bring down Set, God of the desert.
Deadline report that Brenton Thwaites, who looks set for big things with upcoming roles in Maleficent and The Signal, has also signed on to play the lead in Summit Entertainment's Gods Of Egypt. According to the site he'll play Bek, "a human thief who cares little for the affairs of gods but when he discovers Zaya (yet to be cast) has been cursed by Set (Butler), he falls on the side of Horus (Coster-Waldau), hoping that Set’s death will break the curse". Proyas wrote the script with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who are behind Universal’s upcoming horror saga Dracula Untold.
