HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS Delayed Until 2013

Well, this is not that surprising considering that other than one official still image, we haven't see anything else. But, thanks to Exhibitor Relations' tweet, it seems that Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, the 3D adaptation of the popular fairy tale has been delayed for almost a year. The previous date was March 2nd (two months from now), but the new release date is January 11th, 2013.

Directed by Tommy Wirkola, the cast includes Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Famke Janssen, Derek Mears and Peter Stormare, and it's little bit different take on the story, because this time Hansel and Gretel are now grown up bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches.

Damn...I was hoping to see it soon, because of Gemma!
Sexy woman right there!

And Famke Janssen!

I think it sounds pretty good, story wise...
I hope it is!

Seems like Hollywood's putting an edgy twist on the classic fairy tales lately.

I can't wait to see 'Dumbo: The Angry Drunk'.

@tweeeeenkies3- That's my job!

Next will be 'Porn-occhio: It's not just his nose that grows'. He's really popular with the ladies who like threesomes.
Oh, Hollywood...have you no humanity!

BTW, 'Once Upon A Time' was pretty interesting last night.
Good episode.

@headlopper...HAHA! The Blue Fairy can do wonders with the male *cough*....Well, you know where I am going with this one.

I really liked the 'Once Upon a Time' episode last night also.
I liked knowing how Mr. Gold got his powers! Plus, Emma became Sheriff!
Good for her...And, Red Riding Hood. Pretty hot.
Did you hear that Joanna Garcia is being signed on for The Little Mermaid in the show? I posted an article on here about it!

@headlopper...She is quite cute!
I really like her as an actress...So even though she is a little old for the role, I am fine with it!

She kinda looks like 'Ariel' from the animated movie.
She's really cute.

@headlopper...Agreed!

Some people complained about the fact she is 32, and Ariel is 16...But, she looks so damn young!
And, it will just be a guest appearance...It does not really matter. Not to me atleast

How the hell does a movie that was supposed to open 2 months from now get pushed back a whole year?What's that about?Whatever the problem was, they just now figured this out?

Looking at other sites, it seems Paramount may be attempting to capitalize on Renner's upcoming potential fame.Renner and Arterton are not very recognizable actors, and by next January, he'll have appeared in The Avengers and The Bourne Legacy within the last 7 months.By then he'll be a lot more recognizable.

An article I read said other studios had admitted to doing this.Most recently with the Weinstein company delaying the release of a film starring Tom Hardy until after The Dark Knight Rises opens.

Paramount just recently had a huge January opening with The Devil Inside, even though the film was panned universally.Maybe they're hoping this film will do the same(that's not to say it will be panned).

kinda makes sense...with the just released M: I-Ghost Protocol, both the upcoming The Avengers and Bourne Legacy, i think the studio might be worried that the audience might get fed up with Jeremy Renner in all these action flicks.

and he HAS, in my humblest opinion, been accepting a bit too many similar action roles in a row..which might just backfire and causes the audience to "reject" him, thus the movies he's in.

then again...the H&G movie might just not be ready for release.

Another twisted adaptation of classic fairy tale, and I can hardly care about this.

Grrr i'm annoyed!
Why do they have to push it back sooo LONG!?
:( I wanted to see this like, soon!

I think Renner was very miscast here.
I love Gemma though.

You can expect the fairy tale movies with an edge to make money, everyone wants to get away from the Twilight crap now but still find a hit franchise package to bank on. So bring on something popular like fairy tales that no one in particular owns and can be recreated as you like.
