Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Cracks the Top 3 Grossing Films!

We all knew the boy who lived could do it, but the final installment of the "Harry Potter" franchise "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" has cracked the top three highest grossing films of all time. The film currently as of August 8th 2011, has grossed $1,133,901,000, putting it just behind James Cameron's "Titanic" and "Avatar."

But the ultimate question is will Harry Potter beat out those big blue aliens to take the top spot? I have seen both films, and personally I thought Avatar was the better film, as well as a remarkable achievement in film making, so therefore it should stay at its deserving spot of No.1. The real "hero" of this story, however is "Titanic" released in 1997, it has the disadvantage of being released in 2D, so therefore doesn't have that ticket price boost.

Here's how the films stand:

1. Avatar

Gross: $2,782,275,172

2. Titanic

Gross: $1,843,201,268

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Gross: $1,133,901,000

Potter still has another $1,648,374,172 to beat out Avatar to take the top spot, will The Boy Wizard do it? Or does James Cameron have nothing to worry about?

I hope Avatar keeps its spot until something like TDKR comes out. I'm just not an HP fan. ;P

I hate when people hate things that are popular just because they are popular or because they couldn't get into them. That doesn't make it a bad series it just means it didn't interest you so what is the need in just being a general ass about the success of it.

Avatar . . . it's the poster-film for that rumour of Hollywood's dieing creativity. And it is number 1. That's kinda depressing.

The only part that I was ever excited about that film was after seeing the creatures I saw how easily a Pokemon live-action film could be made.

HP2 was a let down imo. i wait 7 movies to see an epic battle with harry and the no nose guy, and it last like 30 secs, with a gay wizard stream thing and nothing else. come on man. thay should of had them kicking the shit out of each other.

KALel3412@ Yeah because the only way to end a series is by having the main character and the villian kicking the shit out of each other. Dude get real the movie was what it was always supposed to be, to see them fight like that would have in no way been true to either character.

Voldemort was always the weakest character of the series. He was a tease at being super scary evil all the way to his end. I think his scariest moment was back in the second movie when he was a Teenage Dream - I mean memory. lol

^Don't get your Naavi panties in a twist, Kes. You can still take comfort knowing you love special effects and copy/paste storytelling.

Harry Potter is better then the top two. Nolan's batman will never come near it, because it's not as good. don't hate just deal with it.
