HELLBOY Star Ron Perlman Joins FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM
Warner Bros. upcoming Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them has added Hellboy star Ron Perlman in a very interesting role. Come check it out!
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Ron Perlman (Hellboy) has joined the cast of Warner Bros. upcoming Harry Potter spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, which has David Yates (Harry Potter 5-8) on board as director and marks the screenwriting debut of Harry Potter scribe J.K. Rowling. Details on the film's plot are still scarce, but THR adds that Perlman will portray a goblin.
He joins a cast that features Eddie Redmayne (The Theory Of Everything) in the lead as magizoologist Newt Scamander and also features a talented ensemble that includes Colin Farrell (True Detective), Katherine Waterston (Steve Jobs), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Jon Voight (Mission: Impossible), and Samantha Morton (Minority Report), amongst others. Shooting is currently underway in England.

J.K. Rowling has said that the film will start in New York, around 1920, seventy years before the Harry Potter series, and will feature Newton Scamander as a main character. It is unclear whether the rest of the film will be set in New York. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them tells us that Scamander had been travelling the world in research of magical creatures since 1918, culminating with the publication of his masterpiece in 1927.
