As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, HBO has revealed a first look at several wands from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, highlighting those belonging to Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Neville Longbottom, and Draco Malfoy.

Shared by HBO and the official Harry Potter account on Instagram, these offer Wizarding World fans a closer look at the wands ahead of the show's Season 1 premiere this December. Each has been redesigned, meaning they have little in common with the versions seen in the Harry Potter movies.

While merchandise for the TV series has yet to be revealed, Warner Bros. Discovery can now sell replicas of these and the original wands featured on the big screen. That has to be at least one of the reasons the franchise is being rebooted.

Harry Potter's wand is made of holly, features a phoenix feather core, and measures 28 cm. Its description notes that "Harry's wand and Voldemort's wand share a core from the same phoenix. Ollivander describes them as 'brother wands.'"

Ron Weasley's wand is made from ash wood, has a unicorn hair core, and measures 31 cm. HBO explains that "Ron's wand is a hand-me-down wand from his older brother Charlie."

Hermione Granger's wand is made from vine wood, features a dragon heartstring core, and measures 27 cm. "Hermione's wand is vine wood, a rare material said to favour those who seek a greater purpose," HBO states.

Draco Malfoy's wand is made of hawthorn with a unicorn hair core and measures 25 cm. "Draco's wand is hawthorn. According to lore, hawthorn is best suited to wizards with a conflicted nature," the description reads.

Neville Longbottom's wand is the biggest mystery of the five, with its wood type, core, and length currently unknown. The one detail HBO has confirmed is that "Neville's wand was inherited from his father." Fans of the books will know that a tragic fate befell Neville's parents after Lord Voldemort's fall, and many believe Frank and Alice Longbottom are the young couple seen in the show's trailer celebrating his apparent demise.

Take a closer look at these wands from HBO's Harry Potter in the Instagram post below.

"There is nothing special about Harry Potter - at least that's what his Aunt Petunia always says," reads the synopsis. "On his 11th birthday, a letter of admittance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens up a hidden world for Harry: one of fun, friendship and magic. But with this new adventure comes great risk as Harry is forced to face a dangerous enemy from his past."

The main cast of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.

Rounding out the supporting cast are Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley, Leigh Gill as Griphook, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

The series, based on J.K. Rowling’s beloved books, is written and executive-produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive-produce and direct multiple episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive-produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone premieres on HBO Max this Christmas.

I genuinely feel bad for these kids. At their young age they don't know the kind of harassment they are setting themselves up for. The actress who plays Hermione will be the subject of racist trolls and the rest of them will be affiliated with transphobia for their entire careers. It's things like this that make me consider whether or not child actors are ethical at all in this day and age.

@Malatrova15 - you're a great example of the exact kind of internet troll that is going to cause these children to grow up with serious emotional issues that (hopefully do not) manifest in the form of drug addiction and inability to have healthy relationships. A lot of your comments on this site are really funny but I wonder if you lack this level of empathy in real life, or if you just don't actually go outside

@NHartMusic - Why were there so many entertainers ending up with severe drug addiction and the inability to have healthy relationships in the decades prior to internet trolls?

You sound dumb. Man, nobody is harassing them. Your one of those divas that tried pushing the narrative that people were actively harassing the Acolyte and Obi Wan cast. There hasn't been a single report of anyone harassing these kids, but you're over here dwelling on your head cannon fan fiction about pretend bullying.

I know we're all at a certain level pretty pathetic for even participating on this website, I'm not completely lacking in self awareness, but to be on here fantasizing about children being bullied for a show you don't support is sort of a whole nother level of pathetic.

The wands look cool (Neville’s pretty much just looking like a stick is oddly fitting) and i like the meanings behind them , especially Draco’s & Hermione’s which i hope we get those in the show aswell since we didn’t in the films…

Speaking of the wands , Anton Lesser playing Ollivander the wand-maker is fantastic casting!!.
