TRUE DETECTIVE's Colin Farrell Joins FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM
In a pleasantly surprising turn of events True Detective and former Daredevil star Colin Farrell has joined the cast of WB's upcoming Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Season 2 of HBO's True Detective is winding to a close, but Colin Farrell looks to have already found his next big project. The talented and underrated Irish actor has been cast in Warner Bros' upcoming Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. He's set to play a wizard named 'Graves', who meets Eddie Redmayne's 'Newt Scamander' while the young protagonist is on his travels documenting magical creatures in New York City.
Farrell joins an impressive ensemble cast that also includes Inherent Vice star Katherine Waterston as female lead 'Porpentina', Transparent's Alison Sudol as her sister 'Queenie', Dan Fogler as Scamander's non-magical acquaintance 'Jacob' and future 'Flash' Ezra Miller as 'Kredan'. The movie is set roughly 70 years before the events of the main Harry Potter series.
