Perhaps not, but I had an hour long conversation with my 10 year old niece who it's opened the whole world of Greek mythology to her. It's in a sense "the next Harry Potter". They even have a spin-off of Percy dealing with Egyptian mythology.

I'll admit it looks SLIGHTLY less shitty than the first one.

Still not going to see it though. Wrap it up and reboot.

Only reason I watched the first one was for Rosario Dawson.

Why does this movie keep popping up on this site? I'm pretty sure this is a borderline children's movie, not a comic book movie or even an iconic sci-fi movie

Logan Lerman, Anthony Head, and Nathan Fillion is an "impressive cast"?

The Lightning Thief was made into a graphic novel...

But anyways, the books are pretty good. Better than any of the recent Greek films to come out. Better and more accurate than Clash/Wrath of the Titans less stupid than Immortals etc.

Just wish the movie adaptations of the book series would fly a little closer to the way the books go. Here's hoping this movie is a turn for the better. Battle of the Labyrinth is my favorite book in the series.

How is it that Nathan Fillion has time for this but not for a comic book movie?

I don't know about this movie I only watched G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Iron Man 3, Fast & Furious 6, and Man of Steel. Should I go see Percy Jackson 2: Sea of Monsters? I think I'll wait for X-Men: Day of Future Past & Dawn of the Planet of the Apes thanks anyways Fox.

DangerKid: You went to go see GI Joe, so you're obviously used to ponying up money to see crap movies. I'm sure the XMen DOFP won't be any better than any of the shit mutant movies we've had to endure so far, so looks like you're staying right on track with "Hey, I'm an idiot moviegoer who will support any pile of stinking poo the studio will shovel my way!"
