In an article from Deadline about Paramount putting director Ivan Reitman's Draft Day, starring Kevin Costner, it shows new details on Ghostbusters 3. Take a look.

"Paramount chose not to make it in the small window that Reitman has before he is expected to finally get the long-gestating Ghostbusters reboot in front of the cameras next summer for Sony Pictures (sans Bill Murray). ... It would be tough to find room to squeeze in the football film and get done before Reitman goes back to Ghostbusters duty. Paramount insiders tell me that if the film can’t happen in this nearly impossibly short window, the studio could simply hang on to Draft Day, and make it after Reitman and Costner finish their obligations."

So what do you think? Are you excited filming may start for the movie next year or are you not even interested in a third Ghostbusters with no Bill Murray? Comment below. Peace.

No time, no Moranis, no Murray. Reboot it after I'm dead, please.

If anything, they should do a CGI Ghostbusters movie, ala The Clone Wars. Providing they can get the original cast on board.

That weird part's called love HalloweenJack@ and it'll always let you down.
If Murray won't do it, then it means he doesn't think the script is good enough. So no Murray, no good. Period.

@dukeacars, yeah but murrays movie choices havent been so good latetly, not to say this script is good, but if nobody was going to return then i would believe 100% that the script was shit

MrCool210@ Are you kidding me? Murray's choices haven't been good lately? I'm sorry, but with the exception of the Garfield movies and a film called "City of Embers" (that may or may not be good, I duno, I've not seen it), I would say that every film he's chosen since The Royal Tennenbaums has been very, very good indeed. And if the reason you've said this is because you simply haven't seen any Murray movies in the last 15 years except for the Garfield flicks, then I must advise you to check some of them out. I'm realy quite sure that you'll probably find at least one of them that will actually bcome you're new favorite movie. I know it sounds like I'm the man's publicist or something, here, I can hear myself, but I really would feel remiss if I didn't tell you this. I'd been doing both him and you a great disservice.

Bill Murray wont do it for several reasons:
1). He thought that Ghostbusters 2 was a cash-grab and it lacked heart. The first one was fantastic, yet the second one was 'meh' at best.
2). He thinks the guys are way too old to put on proton-packs and run around like if they were still in their glory days.

However, he did say that he would consider coming back if the script was fantastic (and not a cash-grab). He wants the movie to add something new to the Ghostbusters' mythos (not just exist so that the studio can make some money).

Honestly, I think that the GhostBusters coming back past their prime would make for some comedic gold [see: Red (2010)]; however, the comedy has to center around how worthless/stupid young people are (Old V.S. Young), and there should be no passing of the guard (no new GhostBusters). It should focus on the original foursome. They are like Coca-Cola and everyone else is an unworthy imitation (See: RC Cola).

If not, reboot it like Star Trek (2009). Use the original cast of characters including Doctors Venkham, Stantz, and Spengler – re-imagine for a new generation and recast.

what IronDean2099 said

I wanted one last movie where we see the original Ghostbusters realising they are too old to be Ghostbusters and we see them look for replacements. the movie focuses on the original Ghostbusters most of all and the new Ghostbusters have a much smaller role with a promise off a much bigger role for a fourth movie. That way, we can get to see the original cast back together for one last movie and then they hand it over to new ones. The original fans can have one last movie with the originals and then they can hand it over to new Ghostbusters for a new generation!
