The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

I am a huge LOTR fan but the art direction of the hobbit movies is really bothering me. It's like the costumes were designed for stage.

@siggissuperman I completely agree. Beorn and now Fry look like idiots. I'm having a hard time looking forward to this movie. The Hobbit is my favorite book from JRRT and as far as i'm concerned Jackson is ruining it.

The reason I think that the characters in The Hobbit movies look more "outlandish" than in LOTR is because The Hobbit is more of a fairy tale story, while Lord of the Rings is much more epic and grittier in tone
