Looks like Tim Burton has finally run out of new ways to make Depp look like a fool. The people aren't too keen on this new look. Many comments have said Depp looks like Michael Jackson, which is always creepy. Others said he just looks like a slightly altered version of any of his previous white-faced characters.

Which begs the question. Did Tim Burton buy white makeup in bulk?

Synopsis - In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.


“Dark Shadows” will star: Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham-Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Moretz and Jackie Earle Haley and is slated for a May 2012 release.

Yeah, right now I'm not feeling it too much. Maybe when we
wee it on the screen it's gonna look better. So far though,
I'm not impressed. But I do love Depp, he's an amazing actor
so he no doubt will perform awesome.

you know its going to be filmed through a filter, might just be the way his make up needs to be, remember the bright orange "blood" for sleepy hollow....bet that would have look stupid as [frick] in pics like the above

And well I'm kind of tired of Deep, I bet this vampire will act like fusion of Sweeney Todd, Jack Sparrow and Willy Wonka as usual

Even though Depp's a complete [frick]ing wanker, apparently it's going to be filmed in black and white. Hence the makeup. He still looks ridiculous though. The only reason Burton makes films is to keep his wife (Bonham Carter) and son (Depp) employed...

i think that it might be his make-up in order to be outside as a vampire and not his overall look throughout the movie - if it is tho it looks almost cartoony - not sure how else to describe it

and i remember somebody saying that this would push avengers into 2nd place at the box office next year in its 2nd week... pssh! we've already seen 2 michael jackson films, no need for a 3rd

Besides the VERY white face and lips, the overall facial structure and hair look pretty spot on to what Jonathan Frid looked like as the original Barnabus.

But a face THAT white is uncalled for. Tim Burton mustve bought white paint in bulk like the article above says.

Is that true? I haven't read anything about this film being featured in black and white at all and I've been all over the developments of this film for about a year and your comment is the first I've heard of it being a black and white film.

yeah i cant judge on the photos, im not sure what hes supposed to look like, and set photos never look as good as the real thing, like how cap has been looking lately on avengers

I watched DS as a kid with my mother and grandmother. It was a damn fine show despite the fact that it was a soap opera.
Depp looks nothing like Jonathon Frid did as Barnabas Collins. Depp looks like Michael Jackson. I WAS excited for this movie...not so much now. The chick playing Angelique should be a hot blonde and where's Quentin ? Is Chris Jennings showing up as a werewolf ? I'll wait and rent this one...maybe...if they ditch the Michael Jackson crap.
