Se7en Writer To Re-team With David Fincher For 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

The duo behind one of the darkest, most disturbing movies ever made working on a Disney movie? Yep! Deadline report that Andrew Kevin Walker has signed on to write the script for their adaptation of the Jules Verne classic..

This has just become something to keep a close eye on. Writer Andrew Kevin Walker will join director David Fincher on Disney's retelling of the story of Captain Nemo and his most famous of submarines, The Nautilus. Fincher and Walker previously worked on a little movie called Se7en which is considered not only one of the best thrillers out there but also one of the darkest. It certainly freaked me out considerabley when I first saw it. So it will be very interesting to see what we are in store for with their version of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

The movie will be shot in 3D, with Fincher claiming that it would be up to 70% CG, with lots of motion capture work. But the director also says that it is not necessarily his next project. He has a few options - aside from Leagues there is an adaptation of Cleopatra and it is likely that he will want to direct the follow up to The Girl With The Dragon Tatto provided it is a success and I can't imagine it won't be. Anyway, keep an eye on CBM Nemo fans and we will be sure to update when any more info comes our way.

Can't wait for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Rooney Mara for Best Actress

Fincher for Best Director, after that misfire last year.

Fincher is God.

Se7en is definitely up there with my top ten favorite movies ever.

This could be something really great.

Javier Bardem or Mark Strong as Nemo.

@Dionysios The misfire of the academy not giving him the Best Director Oscar for The Social Network, something he defiantly deserved, the King's Speech as a very good film, but its direction was just meh...

I chose Kevin Costner & Jude Law to be casted in this movie. I think Kevin can play Ned Lad and Jude can play Captain Nemo. Since, Kevin is being busy casted to play Clark Kent's Dad Jonathan Kent from the "MAN OF STEEL". Nicolas Cage can make a great casting playing Ned Lad. What do everyone think ?
