This has just become something to keep a close eye on. Writer Andrew Kevin Walker will join director David Fincher on Disney's retelling of the story of Captain Nemo and his most famous of submarines, The Nautilus. Fincher and Walker previously worked on a little movie called
Se7en which is considered not only one of the best thrillers out there but also one of the darkest. It certainly freaked me out considerabley when I first saw it. So it will be very interesting to see what we are in store for with their version of
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea
The movie will be shot in 3D, with Fincher claiming that it would be up to 70% CG, with lots of motion capture work. But the director also says that it is not necessarily his next project. He has a few options - aside from
Leagues there is an adaptation of
Cleopatra and it is likely that he will want to direct the follow up to
The Girl With The Dragon Tatto provided it is a success and I can't imagine it won't be. Anyway, keep an eye on CBM Nemo fans and we will be sure to update when any more info comes our way.
