Entertainment Weekly report that Stephen King's bestselling Fantasy novel Eyes Of The Dragon has been optioned for either a movie or miniseries at SyFy. The script will be written by Michael Taylor (Battlestar Galactica) and Jeff Vintar (I, Robot).

Dragon is a standalone novel, but does overlap into some of King's other works, most notably with the villain of the piece - an evil entity who has appeared (or at least, an aspect of him) in The Stand and The Dark Tower saga. In Dragon the character is known as Flagg (other incarnations are Randall Flagg, Walter O'Dim, The Man In Black, The Walkin Dude etc), an evil magician of the King's court. The novel's setting, Delain, is also mentioned in The Dark Tower. It seems with the popularity of HBO's Game Of Thrones, other networks are hoping to get in on the Fantasy action. If this is done well it could be something very special. We will update if any more info becomes available.

A kingdom is in turmoil as the old king dies and his successor must do battle for the throne. Pitted against an evil wizard and a would-be rival, Prince Peter makes a daring escape and rallies the forces of Good to fight for what is rightfully his. This is a masterpiece of classic dragons-and-magic fantasy that only Stephen King could have written.
