CLARY FRAY (Lily Collins) is an ordinary Brooklyn teenager until the night she meets the mysteriously tattooed JACE, who turns out to be a half-angel warrior known as a Shadowhunter. When Clary finds out her mother JOCELYN has been abducted, she desperately hopes Jace will be able to help. After a whirling golden portal transports her across time and space in a heartbeat, Clary realizes she too has the powers of the Shadowhunters. But can she harness them in time to save her mother?

Clary, Jace and their fellow Shadowhunters endure one breathtaking battle after another against vampire, warlocks and demons—only to discover Jocelyn hid a terrible secret from the fiercest warrior of all: VALENTINE. Cast out from the world of Shadowhunters, Valentine abducted Jocelyn believing she had a powerful tool known as the Mortal Cup. Using her newfound gifts, Clary finds the Cup, only to be brutally betrayed and forced to relinquish it.

Still reeling from this setback and racing to save Jocelyn before it’s too late, Clary finds herself caught in a battle between forces she barely understands. Based on the best-selling series by Cassandra Clare, MORTAL INSTRUMENTS is a magnificent urban fantasy rich in detail and suspense, about a girl’s journey to the darkest corners of the underworld to save those she loves.

Starring Lily Collins, Jaime Campbell Bower, Lena Headey, Jared Harris, Kevin Durand and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is set to hit theatres on August 23, 2013.

Looking good. I've only managed to read a few bits of the books (and, Wikipedia), but I can tell that it has an interesting premise and rather vast mythology, which is equally intriguing. It also surprisingly has a pretty impressive cast, so I'll be looking forward to this.

Sadly, the poster looks cheap as hell.

@MartianSupermanhunter22...been here a good minute sir....back in the day when ALL you we're going to get from the place was info on actual COMICBOOKMOVIES. Now we have the pleasure of reading about how BLACK OPS 2 is going to suck...The new WIZARD OF OZ...even JAMES BOND is getting coverage..that shit doesn't even have a respectable scifi leg to stand on. Who was you're favorite artist on DJANGO UNCHAINED? Are you happy JAMES WAN might helm MACGYVER? You can call me a purest but that's just a sign that I'm not new here son. besides that looks like some trite MTV TWILIGHT BS anyways....just geared to take the dollars from teenie boppers & manboys like you. LOLZ

A very awkward supernatural series filled with gay warlock, Jewish vampire, and pseudo-incest. It was an interesting world to read about though. The villain is the main character's estranged supremacist (or would it be racist?) father. Theres magic. It's set in New York.

The only thing that's really off-putting at the start of the series is the giant quoted endorsement by the author of Twilight on the cover of the book.

Oh, and there's a group of teenagers who've been trained by their parents to kick demon ass.

If you're so concerned about the content that is put on this site, then why don't you direct your anger at those that can actually do something about it?

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/about-us/contact/

There you go.

Additionally, if you have been here as long as you claim, then you will be aware that:

"In 2008, CBM expanded its coverage to include all SciFi,Fantasy and Horror related properties, but retains it's main focus upon comic book movies."

That was almost five years ago, I'm quite sure this site has evolved significantly in that time, responding to the needs/wants of its readership, even if it means adding in stories that have very little to do with comic books.

To put it simply, they want more hits. By clicking on this article, you are only encouraging them to provide more news of this nature.

@MartianSupermanhunter22... never mind the content issue at hand...the mere fact that you would even slightly give praise to this bubblegum pop bullshit is enough evidence for me to know who the "TWAT" is here. Forgive me the fault of wanting only subject matter that is worthy of the domain name. This is short lived dibble, cashing in on passing fads of once great now watered downed themes. And "TWATS" like you will forever insure its survival. Enjoy your pointless flashy lights and loud noises, its all YOU need, so its all their going to give.

Never passed from the second page of the book.
(not a single original idea in it)

Its trailer clearly shows a B class movie.

With the fanbase this has they should have expend more money.
