VIDEO: Red Letter Media Review JACK THE GIANT SLAYER And HANSEL & GRETEL

The boys take a look at the latest Hollywood trend of adapting "old timey fairy tales" into big budget action flicks, while reviewing the latest examples: Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and Bryan Singer's Jack The Giant Slayer. Shocker: The don't hate them!..

When I saw that Mike and Jay had chosen these particular movies to review for the latest ep of Half In The Bag I was sure they'd tear em apart, but it turns out both thought Hansel & Gretel was decent, and Mike actually loved Jack The Giant Slayer . What idiots! I jest, I haven't seen either or em yet. Anyway, see what the lads had to say for yourselves below.

Hansel and Gretel may just be the sleeper hit of the year. On a budget of only 50 million the movie has already made over 181 million and still has several foreign markets to open up in. It will easily pass 200 million. That probably ensures a sequel.

I passed out half way into Hansel and Gretel, paid 32 bucks for a 40 minute nap, i don't think i would be complaining if the movie would have been longer.

FABLES did it first, and much better. Everything else is a pale comparison, whether intentional or not. Haven't seen a better balancing of the fantastical elements and the modern elements (gunplay, adult situations, etc) on TV or film so far. I'm surprised these boys like Jack though...may have to rent that one...

Both are crap movies.
I mean even the last snow white film was crappy too.
I've just had it with these fairytale movies trying to make them dark and gritty.
