Promoting his latest 3D thriller Drive Angry, actor Nicolas Cage speaks shortly with FearNet on his return as the Brimstone Biker in the duo Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor-directed Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Reiterating he'll portray the dual roles of Blaze & his demonic alter-ego, the actor says:

"There's an exorcism scene I just did where Johnny Blaze is being exorcized," says Cage, "And then I also play Ghost Rider, who's the spirit of Zarathos, who's a corrupted angel. So it's like completely different entities. The movie is not like anything I've done before."

The story - "It has been several years since making a deal with the Devil and Johnny Blaze, living in self-imposed isolation, finds himself as the only person who can help save 10-year-old Danny – and ultimately the world – thanks to his unwanted and uncontrollable power – his ability to transform into the hell-on-wheels monster known as The Ghost Rider"

Starring alongside Cage, Idris Elba, Ciarán Hinds, Christopher Lambert and Violante Placido, officially wrapping up filming last Saturday, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance opens in theaters in 3D on February 17, 2012!

Is this movie in continuity with the first film? I thought I read somewhere on here that it wasn't.

How delightful that he gets to apply his shitty acting to 2 different roles instead of one. Maybe the movie will bomb twice as hard. His uncle should tell him to just stop and the hair plugs are atrocious. You're balding, deal with it.

Didn't think the first one was good at all. Quite cheesy, honestly.

Ghost Rider isn't really a character I care for. I do hope they get it right for the fans this time. Really don't understand why Nicolas Cage was cast as Ghost Rider in the first place.

you might get to see footage at comic con.

it was pretty bad casting nic cage as johnny blaze,he is a terrible actor.

the only movie i liked him in was kick ass,but he sucks in everything else.

if you watch this video check out the music its from "requiem of a dream" its awesome, unlike nic cage acting.

should of just had Danny as ATLEAST a 20 somthing so he could inherit the Ghost Rider, instead of a 10 yr old, sicne it's set years after the original. simple as that, that way crazy ass nic cage cant burn us more sicne he couldnt get Iron Man or Supes..

Is it just me or is everyone getting sick of Nic Cage playing the same type of role, the man won an Oscar for crying out loud (actually for Leaving Las Vegas) but he had a great run of movies until he went crazy. I'll watch this movie but not until it comes out on video.

Everybody saying that Nic Cage is a terrible actor should check out Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, he is amazing in it. It's a great film anyways

It should be like the incredible hulk. If people want to follow the continuity of the original then it'll make sense. But of people just want to see this one, then it'll still make sense

@ Unreal2k9 - I think it's in continuity, I read somewhere it was. But like you, I've also read it isn't.

@ foobie - Agreed, Bad Lieutenant was a cracking film!

I thought Ghost Rider was a good enough film, looking forward to the sequel.

The movie is probably going to look something like Jonah Hex. In Ghost Rider that atmosphere fits.

Josh Holloway as the next Johnny Blaze if this fails.
Scott Porter or Henry Cavill as Danny Ketch

Still not seen Jonah Hex. Is it as bad as I've been told?
AlexDeLarge87
AlexDeLarge87 - 2/24/2011, 3:09 AM
RyKnow@ Yes! Best thing in it is Brolin, Malkovich and Michael Fassbender and even they had problems to act with that lousy script. Its more of a supernatural action movie than a western like Jonah Hex comics.
Coen Brothers would have made a great Hex movie! Which i guess would have been something like their version of True Grit!:)
RyKnow
RyKnow - 2/24/2011, 3:13 AM
@ Alex - Cheers, I think I will give it a miss then. I agree with you on the Coen Brothers though. Not seen True Grit yet either, but I've heard great things about it. Like your new avatar by the way ;)

He does look terrible in the pic but thats what a 14-16 hour work day of acting can do to you. Here is a recent pic of Cage and looks better, also the pic of him playing Blaze in 2007.

Can't wait for Spirit of Vengeance!

Havok89
Havok89 - 2/24/2011, 8:22 AM
Drive Angry looks like absolute shite and I have no doubt that Ghost Rider sequel will suck as hard (if not harder) than Drive Angry.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance = Jonah Hex + Crank 2 (without Jason Statham)

Havok89 - 2/24/2011, 8:28 AM
I [frick]ing hate Nicolas Cage now because he has absolutely no self respect and only works for MONEY!

If someone would offer him a role of talking penis he would probably accept it lol
