Channing Tatum's Duke Resurrected For G.I. JOE 3?

G.I. Joe: Retaliation director, Jon M. Chu ("Justin Bieber: Never Say Never"), was recently interviewed by MTV News, and was asked if Channing Tatum's Duke, who died in the last film, could return for the third live-action G.I. Joe. Check it out.

In Jon M. Chu's G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the President of the United States (played by Jonathan Pryce), who is actually Zartan in disguise orders the United States military to kill the Joes. During the ambush Duke (played by Channing Tatum) is blown to smithereens while trying to get Flint (played D.J. Cotrona) to safety. So, that should be all for Duke, right? Maybe not. Jon M. Chu recently signed on to direct the next G.I. Joe film tells MTV News there is a shot Duke might rise from the grave.

"You never know. Storm Shadow died in the first one and came back in the second one, and then other characters have died and never come back. The G.I. Joe world, the best thing about it is you never know who's coming back and who's not." - MTV News

In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy, Cobra, they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe® characters. On Blu-ray & DVD!

I personally thought Retaliation got 1000x better once Duke died.

He has gotten better as an actor and his scenes with the Rock were the best parts of G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Channing Tatum should tell those guys to [frick] themselves. They kill off his character as soon as Channing Tatum popularity started to dwindle and then when he is popular again after making some succesful appearences in the last year now they come back begging. Disrespectful, towards the actor and disrespectful towards the fans, since it shows that the story of the movie makes no difference to them, they just care about star power

The sequel was a lot of fun. A step up from the first.

2nd movie was better the minute Duke died. Duke is a cool character and all but the fact that the character was butchered by that [frick] stick means that he should just stay dead.

Channing Tatum is a C|_|NT.

Retaliation was a step in the right direction, not perfect, but an improvement on the first film. Leave Duke dead. Bring back Scarlett, but make her actually behave like Scarlett. We need Shipwreck, Tunnel Rat, Low-Light, etc...And bring Scrap-Iron or Copperhead on board for Cobra. Finally, let's see the Commander with his hood on, please!!!

Thanks a bunch for the spoiler, Google/ComicBookMovie. I haven't seen the second movie yet. I only searched Google for "Channing Tatum" and the first thing that came up was "Channing Tatum's Duke Resurrected For G.I. JOE 3?"

How long has this been on bluray/dvd, and this is the best video available?

That looked pretty final to me, but yeah...whatevs. One must suspend a lot of disbelief for the GI Joes movies in the first place.

Meh, both movies are terrible, but I love them both. Into the "So bad they're good" pile they go.
