One of the highlights of the critically panned G.I. Joe films was always Snake Eyes. The undisputed MVP of the franchise was always given the best setpieces and action sequences, which is a likely reason why the character has garnered his own spinoff.
According to The Wrap, the recently mysterious 2020 G.I. Joe film, has now been confirmed to be the spinoff, which will be changing from its March 27, 2020 release to an October 16 one.
The film, which will be directed by RED and R.I.P.D.'s Robert Schwentke, has a screenplay from Beauty and The Beast's Evan Spiliotopolous. It is unclear whether Retaliation's Ray Park will return for the titular role. The spinoff is expected to be a prequel.
