Lee, it wasn't the dark horse of the summer, it was a [frick]ing turkey! A dark horse is a movie no one expects to do well, with a low budget that is surprisingly good, not a 150 million dollar block buster that requires a frontal lobotomy to enjoy.

ROR @ It made [frick]ing $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and will make more, i liked it and everyone thought it was gonna flop, it didn't, it was the dark horse of the summer!! ; D

Yes we do need QUALITY CBM'S but does HOLLYWOOD listen, not really, i'm pi$$ed off wiv WARZONE too!!

An SPIDEY 3!

All three characters (PUNISHER, WOLVERINE & VENOM), my all time favorites in the MARVEL UNIVERSE and all got ROYALLY BENT OVER for HOLLYWOOD! Lol.

Atleast STORM SHADOW & SNAKE EYES for me was worth the addmission, frickin' fantastic on the big sccreen!

Next stop BATTLESHIPS!! ; D

I DNT GET THE PPL THAT HATE IT THE STORY WAS GREAT IT SHOWED THE BEGINNING OF JOE VS COBRA. SO I GOT A QUESTION Y DO YA HATE IT AND DON'T SAY BECAUSE OF THE CGI, OR THE LAST BATTLE CAUSE THAT'S ALL YA GOT IN THIS MOVIE
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 10/5/2009, 5:30 PM
FLAMES @ The underwater battle was up there with the Battle in space in RETURN OF THE JEDI, it was [frick]ing fantastic to see!!

Hey theres always h8rs lol, what ppl dont get is GI JOE & TRANSFORMERS are for the kids first, their [frick]ing TOY LINES no one expects THE GODFATHER!!

Comic book movies are more than toy lines an have rich histories, they have no excuse when a CBM turns out like sh!Te!

End of the day GI JOE, was a great 2 hour action adventure popcorn ride!!!

Ive seen a hell of alot worst CGI on many movies out this year including the Obvious lol.

I glad they actually made the [frick]er! Roll on GI JOE 2!!!

We get to really see COBRA!!! ; )

MarkCassidy - 10/5/2009, 5:47 PM
Leee, u always come out with the same nonsensical defenses for this movie. So what if it was based on a toy line? Its a movie! Pirates Of The Caribbean was based on a [frick]ing roller coaster ride! A movie should stand on its own no matter what it was based on. I realize that these type of movies dont take themselves seriously and dont even want us to, but thats no excuse for the shit they filled that movie with. Also, the kiddy defense is worthless because Gi Joke had more violence in it than any other CBM of the year! And then the all time classics from Leee..

"it was still better than Snoreigins"

First of all, it was in its arse! Second, even if it was, how is that a defense?

"well, i guess it was shit, but it wasn't as shit as this over here..."

Flames, Im not going into all the reason why it sucked again, read my review.

LEEE777
LEEE777 - 10/5/2009, 6:38 PM
ROR @ You liked BORIGINS, that was SH!TE man ADMIT IT!!!

: D

Its a TOYLINE movie for KIDS!!!

WOLVERINE isn't!

I liked it much better than ORIGINS, so sue me lol!

Hopefully with WOLVERINE 2 & JOE 2 both will be!!

Sorry, I just saw the same old comments again..did you read my post?? I addressed all your points, gave an argument against them, then you just repeat them!!!!

I enjoyed elements of Wolverine, I never said it was a great movie and you know it. Still, every single thing about it was better than Joke. Every performance, special effect, script line, camera shot, cinematography..you name it, Boreigins did it better! Of course, thats all down to taste, after all I;m sitting here arguing with a man that thought Spawn was a good movie:)

Out on Blu-Ray already? Didn't this movie just come out? Seems like they're trying to bag as much money as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love G.I. Joe, I grew up watching their cartoons and playing war with the figures with my brother, but god damn did they bastardize the entire mythology.

This movie was horrible for many reasons:

1. Acting was just bad, and the characters had zero chemistry

2. Constant flashbacks throughout the movie was nauseating and took me out of the story, and had no real flow.

3. Action was good, but it was immediately followed by crappy CGI.

4. How things came to be, Destro becoming a metal head, Cobra Commander, all of it just seemed forced, had no real thought. Even the villains didn't appear all that evil.

5. Cobra Commander's name was Rex? Really? Are you f^cking serious?

I rest my case.

MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 10/5/2009, 7:14 PM
hahah. My favorite bit was when Rex spins around as Cobra Commander..

"Call me...COMMANDER!"

P.S. Even TRANSFORMERS 2 had more quality in it than the SN'ORIGINS movie! ; D
thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 10/5/2009, 7:23 PM
Lee it's not a blockbuster, 150 isn't even half of what transformers made. They both were pretty bad though. The fact that it's being rushed to dvd only proves that the movie should have been called G.I. Joe: Hasboro's mad dash for Cash. They never intended to make a good movie all they want is to cash in on their properties. This movie should have been made purely to be packaged with the action figures.
But even so it's cool that you personally like it, we all have those movies. I love the 80's Flash Gordon movie, however I know it's garbage and fully admit to it, I can't defend why I love other than to say it's my childhood. It had a terrible plot, substandard acting and effects, but I love it. However you'll never hear me call it the dark horse of anything, I love it for what it is and don't romanticize it to be more than that.

lee and ror- read ya review ya have different taste in movies ror know they make movie so us teen, kids could like it that's why its call pg13 not rated-r. the rated-r movie are for adults g.i.Joe was for us teen, kids and d9 was for adult that i hate that movie lee you like movie with action ror doesn't and if he does it dnt seem like it and lee wolverine was good i dnt know what you saw bad about that movie
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 10/5/2009, 7:50 PM
So what about all the PG13 movies that don't suck then? TDK, Iron Man, in fact every super hero CBM is pretty much PG13..weak argument. I love action movies..when they don't insult my intelligence. An action movie does not need to have no brain to work.
flames809
flames809 - 10/5/2009, 7:51 PM
ror- you got a point about ironman, tdk
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 10/5/2009, 8:29 PM
i'd watch ghost rider again before this flaming pile of turd.

ror, your totally right in everything you say about this movie.

Flames, the story was not good, it was juvenile and brainless. the ONLY good thing about it were the snake eyes and storm shadow fights. but to quote the movie "Waiting", thats like being the smartest kid with downs syndrome. their fights might have been the best parts, but they were still done TERRIBLY! they would show two or three punches get thrown, then change scenes to something else, then cut back to the fight, and BOOM, storm shadow dies in 3 more attacks. it was god awful.

@ LEEE

lol, you've lost your marbles if you think the underwater battle in GI Joe can even sniff the balls of the space battles in star wars, buddy

G.i. Joe was alright. I agree, that the action scenes were no Return Of The Jedi, but overall The movie was fun. Stupid in most of it's aspects, but overall, fun.

It definitely was better than wolverine, although I don't think there's a single movie that came out this summer that wasn't.

Definitely buying this, Transformers 2, District 9, and The Hangover.

Lee you sound like the smallville fans, "yeah this season wasn't that great...but next season!" how many years has that been said? Don't kid yourself, like I said I understand nostalgia, but to think it'd get any better? Accept it for what it is man.
