Paramount's planned G.I. Joe spinoff/reboot, Snake Eyes, has added up-and-coming Japaneses American actress Haruka Abe (47 Ronin, Cyberbully) to its cast.
Abe's role has not been disclosed, but there are several possibilities, including lethal Cobra warrior Jinx. Whichever character Haruka winds up playing, she'll join Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, Warrior's Andrew Koji as his nemesis, Storm Shadow, and Money Heist actress Ursula Corbero as The Baroness.
Red and R.I.P.D. director Robert Schwentke is set to helm the movie from a script by Beauty and The Beast screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos. The plot is said to focus on the early days of the silent, masked warrior, as he attempts to join the ranks of the Ninja Clan known as Arashikage.
Snake Eyes is set to hit theaters on Oct. 16, 2020.
