SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN Writer Set To Pen G.I. JOE: RETALIATION Sequel

Jon M. Chu has now officially signed up to helm the third instalment of the G.I. Joe franchise, while Paramount have enlisted Snow White and the Huntsman and Ninja Turtles writer Evan Daugherty to pen the follow-up to G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Read on for details!

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Jon M. Chu will return to direct the currently untitled G.I. Joe 3. Paramount have also turned to Snow White and the Huntsman writer Evan Daugherty to work on the screenplay of the movie, although there are currently no details on what his take will include. Daugherty also did a last-minute rewrite for the Michael Bay produced Ninja Turtles and co-wrote Summit's adaptation of the Veronica Roth 'Young Adult' novel Divergent, starring The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Shailene Woodley. While critics have never been too kind to the franchise, 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra made $302 million worldwide, while this year's G.I. Joe: Retaliation (starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) scored an impressive $371 million.

I'm glad that everyone has finally realized that the character Kristen Stewart was playing in Twilight is the only character she can do. She's another example of actresses who have had way more opportunities than she deserves. Megan Fox also comes to mind.

I liked Reataliation! They even made me like Duke and his comraderie with Roadblock, before they killed him off. Bring Back Duke!! One word man! Nonomites!!!!

Not gonna take this opportunity to insult GI Joe Retaliation..in fact I'm gonna praise it! It was slightly better than Rise Of Cobra. Now if this third one is slightly better than Retaliation, it'll reach the level of BLEH!

Face it,,, Without Snake Eyes these would just be dvd movies people rented when bored. They have turned into Rock and Willis movies anyway. And more so with Willis now that he is out of the Expendable movies.

The pouty, mouth breather chick from Twilight ruined Snow White, not the writer...so I'll stay "to be determined" optimistic about this.

Kristen is underrated. She was great in Into the Wild, Welcome to the Rileys, and The Runaways. Her problem is that she didnt have the versatility. She was an okay Snow White though.

I agree. She's not completely terrible at acting, she was bad in Twilight I'll give people that, but she was pretty good in the films you mentioned!

I had higher hopes for G.I. Joe Retaliation because of some of the reviewers stating it was better than the first. I should have know when Channing and Johnson were playing a video game at the beginning that it would only go downhill from there. As much as I disliked the first G.I. Joe movie, you might as well call it a masterpiece compared to the 2nd one. It was painful sitting through that movie and when the end came, I thought, but I thought this was just the middle part. I almost sent RedBox an email demanding my $1.50 back. Someone needs to put this franchise out of its misery and give it the quick, painless death it needs.

I only saw a couple of minutes of this film on the airplane, it wasn't the best film, neither it was a film I'd continue watching. G.I. Joe needs to stop making films, period.. I don't even want a reboot. Hopefully I'll get the film I want to see from Masters of the Universe.

Okay if this is news bring back Zartan and how he originally looked in the comics and cartoon. I want to see his gang the dreadnoks properly done. Bring in Dr. Mindbender, Destro and Baroness. Hot damn! throw some B.A.T.'s in the mix. Lets face it the villains is the best aspect of G.I. Joe. With the exception of Snake eyes, Jinx, Scarlet and Quick Kick lol
