"It’s been very busy, right, but that’s a good thing. We’re getting the Green Lantern animated series up and running," he said when asked how busy his new position as DC Entertainment's Chief Creative Officer is keeping him. "We’re about four weeks out from wrapping up the Green Lantern movie. And I think we’re going to have some exciting stuff in development on the television front announced soon."

As for the recently announced Green Lantern animated series, he was ased whether he's actually writing any of the episodes: "Not yet. Maybe if I have time and they’ll have me, but I am working with Warner Bros. Animation on it. Creative collaboration is the best part of the day. I love writing, but the one thing I don’t love about writing is that most of the time it’s you in front of a computer solo, which I find boring. I like people and I like working with passionate people, especially when you’re brainstorming ideas together."

"Fall 2011," he said when quizzed over when exactly the show will arrive on the small screen. "It feels so far away, but I guess that’s right around the corner."

And remember the Blue Beetle test footage images that were released a few weeks back? Well, here's what Johns had to say about that. "It’s a work-in-progress. I can’t really say more than that right now but there will be some Blue Beetle news of some kind very soon. And for everyone at San Diego, I’ll be showing the clip at a few panels."

I'd love a GL series.

Not sure about it being CGI, I'm a sucker for classic animation style.

The epic sequel to my original story. This is probably my best yet on here!

SHOOTING is almost done lol... between the 3D tweaking, sound and visual effects and a few dozen fully-CGI characters, post-production on this monster is gonna take them every day between now and june!

oh, and unless they changed the plan, the animated series is supposed to be cgi. :)

I was never really into GL until First Flight and Blackest Night. Those have really gotten me into Green Lantern and I can't wait for the animated series. Here's hoping it's Batman TAS level and not Batman B&B.

@ InstigatorGirl ya know, they say I look a lot like Johns ;) (J/K)

I'm with THEHAWK I'd prefer Classic Animation style. But I'll watch a Green Lantern animated series either way. Great News.
