While looking through Tsvetomir Georgiev's gallery I happened to notice that he create some fabulous Green Lantern concept models for Abin Sur, Tomar-Re, Kilowog, Stel, Hal Jordan, and Hector Hammond. Below that, you can view his designs for one of the bronze Colchi Bulls, and the half-fish/half-horse creature, known as a Hippocampus.

GREEN LANTERN was directed by Martin Campbell, from a script written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Michael J. Green, and Michael Goldenberg. The film starred: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Tim Robbins, Taika Waititi, Temuera Morrison, and Angela Bassett.

Percy Jackson has had an unnervingly quiet school year. But then he discovers that the magical borders protecting Half Blood Hill are failing. Unless something is done, the camp will be attacked by demons and monsters. The only way to restore power to the camp's borders and to save their home is to find the mythical Golden Fleece. And the only who can undertake this dangerous quest are Percy and his friends. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate Evil.

Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters (2013) directed by Thor Freudenthal, from a screenplay written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The cast includes: Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Abel, Brandon T. Jackson, Douglas Smith, Leven Rambin, Nathan Fillion, and the always stellar, Stanley Tucci. lets be honest.. Even though any one of these costumes would have better, they STILL would not have saved this horrible movie..

Man, Green Lantern could have been so cool. I still say they should just bite the bullet and make a better sequel.

There was so much incredible work put into designing all these GL characters...and then it was wasted not only w/a poor movie but most of the GL's barely got any screen time. Tons of work for 2 seconds on screen.

Why is the concept are better than the final design most of the time?

It'd be cool if Nolan was fooling us all and "Interstellar" was really a fake name for his own Green Lantern reboot. BAM

You know, if there's one thing I liked about the Green Lantern film then it's the suit design. However, it was, not only with Hal but with all the aliens, just a resemblance of their own muscle/body structure. To me, that looked really cool but it are suits you know.. I wouldn't mind actually if they went for an actual suit that looks a bit like armor rather than something identical to the muscle structure.
Although, I did like the fact that they went for a mo-cap suit because story wise, that did made sense. The suit is made of the light of their will power from the ring and when it shines/is used for action a mo-cap suit is a great thing to use. And it's very tight of course. So when it comes to the JLA film/GL-reboot I hope they revision the suits and make it more armory/less muscle-like you know. But still a mo-cap suit, I'd like that.

As for the constructions, I would let them look more glass like, a brighter green than their suits to really divergent them from each other. Although, I did like the plasma-like effect it had too. Maybe they can combine the glass like and the plasma thing together in a nice way. It cán look real damn impressive you know.

If I could make the choice then I'd get a real good script together. Character driven, smart plot with some big action sequences in service of the story with that taking place on planet Earth as quite some bit in space and other planets. Get Joseph Kosinski to direct, because he knows how to shoot a beautiful picture and the VFX in his films look really astonishing and all that he needs is that good script and take it to the next level. I do think, given the fact that whichever GL film will always need a lot of VFX, and it would be a good thing to do practical wherever they can of course (real locations, big sets etc.), that it might be wise to shoot the film on 35mm of which I think Kosinski might rather not do... Because it (with some extra grain) covers up the VFX in a good way and film, to me, still has the best and beautiful picture. Nevertheless, it might very well be shot digitally and when that's the case; I hope they use the CineAlta f65 and/or digi-IMAX camera's to make it look the best way they can. And not to make it look too video-ish (because digital) get the best possible DOP they can get and voila, there you have your stunning superhero-space movie :D

WB Costume designer; "Sir we have come up with a few very cool versions of the suit"

WB Executive; "Yes well that is fine and all but we have decided to spend a fortune in cgi to make it look like body paint"

Wow. i think they made a mistake NOT using these concepts for the kilowog suit and the hal costume on the right. they look amazing compared to what we were stuck with.

@Nomis1800 tho I don't like Hal's suit design I'm 100% with in the idea that CG makes sense since the suit are constructs.

No idea why people want an actual costume when it's not the same as Superman, Batman and other heroes...

I love the concept over the one that was in the GL film.

I myself want to see the next GL film have people in costumes plus use mocap. I think the costume by it self would look nice but it could have an extra coolness with the added touch mocap could bring.

I think practical effects just look better . Make up and prosthetics would have made Tomar Re look way less stupid. Also, Green Lantern's costume should be just that- a costume. Not filing Cg cuz it looks like shit!
