DC Comics fans will be happy to hear that Warner Bros was serious in their promise to continue bringing new superhero properties to the big screen. Heat Vision has just reported that Hollywood screenwriters Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, who all had a hand in developing the the first Green Lantern screenplay, have been officially contracted to create scripts for The Flash and a Green Lantern sequel. The site goes on to say:

"Under the deal, they would then go on to write the screenplay for one of the two projects, though which one has not been determined."

The Flash script will apparently be based off of the recent run by DC's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, and will feature Barry Allen as the first film incarnation of the Scarlett Speedster.

Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Mark Strong, is currently filming in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Flash Facts also needs to let it go because Wally isn't the 'main' Flash anymore. Listen I liked Wally too, but you need to let some of that anger go because it won't do you any good.

Remember, Barry's fans got mad when he died in the 80s. Batman fans got mad when he became darker in the 80s. What happen to those fans. Well they moved on and got old.

Cool news. This is like an all-new Warner Bros, man.

They used to not greenlight *anything* superhero related. It took them 19 years to put out a Superman sequel. 19 years!

And now GL will have TWO films greenlit within a couple of years, before the first one even comes out? Wow.

Here's hoping that Flash film happens with a quickness too!

DC Entertainment is about to punch Marvel Studios in the throat, and I plan on having front row seats at the fight.

p.s. If you see me at the Thor or Captain flicks, just remember I have a secret alien being who desperately wants to be me, but can't get quite right.

Matthew Fox is too old. I say No. I want to see a young quick witted, funny early 20 year old. Not a 44 year old. LOL

Hey everyone! Registered a couple months back and just now getting some much needed free time away from work and school (recent college graduate..yay!!) so thought I'd chime in after being more of a lurker ;) I'm glad DC/WB are getting the ball rolling on a Flash live action movie, it's been long overdue imo. I like Barry Allen but I think Wally West could work better for a general movie audience. Either way they go I will be there opening day!
And who remembers this teaser from a couple yrs back.....

Oh heck yes!!!
GL sequel is a must, I mean I jus know that the first film will rock as well as Marvel's Thor, which I would love to see a sequel for too.
The Flash's relationship with Hal will be awesome when presented on screen.
Can't freakin wait.

Man I loved Mark Paul Gosselaar in the Saved by the Bell yrs when I was in my high school days. His Zack Morris character back then had the wit to play a Wally West type but his work in Law and Order showed he could do serious roles so I think he'd be a good choice to play either Wally or Barry. I'd love to see MPG finally become a movie star ;o)

Glad to see it is Barry Allen. Would love to see references to an older Jay Garrett and a young Wally West. Just as it would be nice to see Alan Scott, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner mentioned some kinda way in Green Lantern. Not to fond of Guy Gardner. Just a thought.
